Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior MEP Design Engineer – Water to lead the design, coordination, and technical delivery of water-related MEP systems across complex building and infrastructure projects. The role will focus on the design and review of potable water, irrigation, drainage, stormwater, wastewater, fire water, and associated utility systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements, local codes, international standards, and client expectations.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead the design of water-related MEP systems for building and infrastructure projects.
Prepare and review design calculations, technical reports, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
Develop designs for
Potable water systems
Domestic cold and hot water systems
Irrigation systems
Stormwater drainage systems
Sewer and wastewater systems
Fire water networks
Pumping systems and storage solutions
Ensure all designs are technically sound, cost-effective, sustainable, and compliant with applicable codes and standards.
Conduct hydraulic assessments and system sizing for water supply and drainage networks.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including architects, civil engineers, structural engineers, utility providers, authorities, and contractors.
Review and resolve clashes and interface issues between water systems and other disciplines.
Support BIM coordination and design integration activities.
Participate in design workshops, technical reviews, and interdisciplinary coordination meetings.
Review shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical queries.
Ensure compliance with local authority requirements, client standards, and international design codes.
Support permitting and authority approval processes related to water systems.
Provide technical guidance during design development, tender, and construction stages.
Project Delivery
Manage design deliverables in line with project schedules and quality requirements.
Monitor design progress and identify technical risks, constraints, and mitigation measures.
Support value engineering initiatives and design optimization.
Provide engineering support during construction, testing, commissioning, and handover phases.
What Required Skills You'll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience in MEP water systems design.
Strong experience in the design of building and/or infrastructure water networks.
Proven experience on large-scale or complex projects.
Strong knowledge of water design standards, authority requirements, and multidisciplinary coordination.
