As a QA Engineer - Automation Anywhere Platform, you will be a hands-on quality engineer responsible for testing and validating enterprise robotic process automation solutions built using Automation Anywhere Automation 360.
This is an individual contributor role focused on functional, integration, regression, API, data, end-to-end, and automated testing of RPA solutions. You will work closely with Automation Anywhere developers, Lead Engineers, business analysts, and product teams to ensure bots are reliable, secure, resilient, and production-ready.

Key Deliverables (Duties and Responsibilities)
Develop and execute test plans, test scenarios, and test cases for Automation Anywhere Automation 360 solutions.
Perform functional, integration, system, regression, end-to-end, negative, and exploratory testing of enterprise bots.
Independently validate medium-to-complex unattended and attended automation solutions.
Test automations across web, desktop, Excel, files, databases, APIs, enterprise applications, and legacy systems.
Validate end-to-end business processes across bots and integrated applications.
Test exception handling, retries, recovery, restartability, logging, alerts, and failure scenarios.
Validate Workload Management (WLM), queues, workload distribution, schedules, triggers, and high-volume processing.
Test Automation Anywhere Control Room, Bot Runner/Bot Agent, schedules, queues, and deployment configurations as applicable.
Validate secure credential handling using Credential Vault, lockers, service accounts, and role-based access controls.
Perform REST/SOAP API testing using Postman or equivalent tools.
Perform backend and database validation using SQL, including source-to-target data validation and reconciliation.
Validate bot behavior for different user roles, application states, data conditions, system errors, and business exceptions.
Create and maintain automated regression tests using Selenium, Playwright, or equivalent testing frameworks where appropriate.
Perform bot volume, performance, stability, and resiliency testing for business-critical automations.
Validate integrations with enterprise applications, APIs, databases, document-processing systems, and external services.
Perform testing of Document Automation/OCR and intelligent document processing solutions where applicable.
Execute regression testing for bot changes, application changes, Automation Anywhere upgrades, and platform migrations.
Validate bot deployments and environment promotions across development, QA, staging, and production environments.
Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects through resolution.
Perform defect analysis and work with developers to reproduce and troubleshoot complex bot failures.
Support root-cause analysis for production defects and automation failures.
Participate in design reviews and identify testability, quality, and operational risks early in the development lifecycle.
Support release readiness, production validation, and post-production testing.
Maintain test evidence and documentation required for audit, risk, compliance, and release governance.
Follow enterprise QA, RPA CoE, security, and testing standards.

5+ years of software quality engineering/testing experience, preferably including automation or RPA solutions.
2–3+ years of hands-on experience testing Automation Anywhere or enterprise RPA solutions, preferably Automation 360.
Good technical understanding of Automation Anywhere Automation 360, including Control Room, bots, Bot Agents/Runners, queues, schedules, triggers, and deployment concepts.
Strong experience with functional, integration, system, regression, end-to-end, negative, and exploratory testing.
Experience testing unattended and attended RPA solutions.
Strong understanding of RPA-specific failure scenarios including application availability, timeouts, selectors/object recognition, credentials, data conditions, retries, and system exceptions.
Experience validating exception handling, logging, recovery, restartability, alerts, and audit trails.
Experience with API testing, including REST/SOAP services and tools such as Postman.
Strong SQL and database-testing skills, including data validation and reconciliation.
Experience with UI test-automation technologies such as Selenium, Playwright, or equivalent frameworks.
Working knowledge of scripting/programming technologies such as Python, Java, JavaScript, PowerShell, or equivalent is preferred.
Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, DevSecOps, and automated testing pipelines.
Experience with test and defect-management platforms such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools.
Understanding of enterprise security, credential management, data protection, and audit requirements.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to independently investigate automation failures.
Good understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum, test lifecycle, defect management, release management, and production support.
Ability to independently test and validate medium-to-complex enterprise automation solutions.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience.
Automation Anywhere Certified Essentials Professional – Required
Automation Anywhere Certified Advanced Professional – Preferred / Added Advantage
Current/active applicable Automation Anywhere certification expected.
Candidate should demonstrate strong working knowledge of Automation 360, even though this is a QA rather than development position.
For this P3 QA role, deep testing capability should carry more weight than architect-level Automation Anywhere certification. The individual must, however, understand Automation Anywhere sufficiently to independently test bots, Control Room behavior, queues, credentials, integrations, exception handling, and production scenarios.
