We are hiring a Data Engineer
Hybrid working model – Novi Sad or Belgrade
Role Description
We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and reliable data platforms that support analytics, reporting, and AI/ML initiatives across the enterprise.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing modern data architectures, building robust ETL/ELT pipelines, and enabling end-to-end data flows that support business intelligence, machine learning, and Generative AI use cases. You will work closely with Data Scientists, AI Engineers, Platform Teams, and Business Stakeholders to ensure trusted, high-quality, and accessible data is available across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data
Build and support modern data architectures including data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time streaming platforms
Ingest, integrate, process, transform, validate, and enrich data from internal and external sources while ensuring high data quality and consistency
Design and maintain data models that support analytics, reporting, and AI/ML use cases
Collaborate with Data Scientists and AI Engineers to provide curated datasets and support feature engineering initiatives
Develop batch and real-time data processing solutions using distributed computing technologies
Support integration of data pipelines with machine learning training, deployment, and monitoring workflows
Implement data governance, security, privacy, and compliance controls aligned with enterprise standards
Optimize data pipelines and platforms for performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency
Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability solutions while proactively troubleshooting failures and resolving performance bottlenecks across data platforms
Maintain data lineage, metadata, documentation, and audit-related artifacts
Support data migration, modernization, and cloud transformation initiatives
Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate deployment processes and CI/CD pipelines for data workloads
Your Profile
Must Have Requirements
Proven experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform Engineering, Big Data Engineering, or a related field
Strong hands-on experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and enterprise data architectures
Advanced knowledge of SQL and data modeling principles
Strong programming experience with Python and/or Scala
Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases
Experience with data lakes, data warehouses, and large-scale analytical platforms
Hands-on experience with Big Data and distributed processing technologies such as Apache Spark or Hadoop
Experience working with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform
Knowledge of real-time data streaming and event-driven architectures
Experience implementing data governance, data quality, and security best practices
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
Experience with CI/CD, automation, and version control practices
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Nice to Have
Experience supporting AI/ML pipelines, feature stores, model training, or MLOps initiatives
Experience within banking, financial services, fintech, or other highly regulated industries
Experience with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, AWS Glue, or Google Dataflow
Experience with Apache Kafka or Azure Event Hubs
Experience with Airflow or other workflow orchestration platforms
Knowledge of Snowflake, BigQuery, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MySQL, or similar database platforms
Familiarity with Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus, or comparable monitoring solutions
Azure Data Engineer Associate certification
AWS Data Analytics Certification
Google Professional Data Engineer Certification
Databricks Certification
