Description
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities
- Design, build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest, transform and deliver data from multiple sources.
- Troubleshoot and resolve data quality, data integration and performance issues.
- Identify optimal data storage solutions for ingesting new data sources.
- Ensure data solutions comply with organisational security, governance and compliance requirements.
- Utilise version control and DataOps best practices, including source control, code reviews, testing and deployment automation.
- Contribute to CI/CD processes to support efficient and reliable deployment of data solutions.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation relating to data architecture, pipelines and processes.
- Collaborate and pair-code with data engineers and data scientists.
Experience and Skills Required
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a Data Engineering or related role.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Strong SQL development and database querying skills.
- Experience designing, developing and supporting ETL/ELT pipelines in a production environment.
- Experience working with a cloud warehousing eg: BigQuery.
- Understanding of data modelling principles and database design.
- Experience with DataOps practices, including version control in GitHub.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
