## FA Lab Senior Manager - Job Responsibilities

### Position Summary

Lead the Failure Analysis (FA) Laboratory to provide world-class analytical capabilities, enabling rapid root cause identification, yield improvement, customer issue resolution, and technology development. Drive laboratory excellence through technical leadership, operational efficiency, talent development, and strategic innovation.

### Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Lead and oversee failure analysis activities supporting product development, manufacturing, quality, reliability, and customer escalations.
• Drive root cause investigations using advanced analytical techniques, including SEM, TEM, FIB, EDS, SIMS, APT, XRM, EBAC, nanoprobing, and other FA methodologies.
• Provide technical guidance for complex semiconductor device and process failure investigations.
• Establish analytical strategies and prioritize critical technical issues to meet business objectives.

Laboratory Operations

• Manage day-to-day laboratory operations to ensure safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery.
• Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including cycle time, tool utilization, capacity, and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee equipment planning, budget management, preventive maintenance, and capability upgrades.
• Ensure laboratory compliance with company standards, quality systems, and EHS requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner closely with Yield Enhancement (YE), Process Integration (PI), Manufacturing, Quality, Reliability, TD, Product Engineering, and Customer Support teams.
• Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts to address yield, reliability, and customer concerns.
• Support strategic initiatives, technology transfers, and new product qualifications across global sites.

Talent Development

• Build and develop a high-performing team of engineers, analysts, and technical specialists.
• Drive employee engagement, succession planning, and career development.
• Coach and mentor team members to strengthen technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and innovation mindset.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Innovation & Strategic Growth

• Develop long-term roadmap for FA laboratory capabilities aligned with business and technology needs.
• Drive digital transformation, automation, AI adoption, and data analytics within laboratory operations.
• Evaluate emerging analytical techniques and implement new capabilities to enhance competitive advantage.
• Collaborate with global teams to standardize best practices and accelerate knowledge sharing.

Customer & Business Support

• Provide executive-level technical communication and recommendations for critical business decisions.
• Support customer escalations with timely and accurate analytical findings.
• Deliver actionable insights that enable yield improvement, cost reduction, and improved product reliability.
• Represent the laboratory organization in management reviews, strategic planning sessions, and customer engagements.

### Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related field preferred.
• Extensive experience in semiconductor failure analysis, process integration, yield engineering, or reliability engineering.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing technical teams and laboratory operations.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience driving organizational change, capability development, and cross-functional collaboration.

### AI & Digital Transformation

• Lead the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and advanced analytics into failure analysis workflows to accelerate problem solving and improve engineering effectiveness.
• Identify, develop, and deploy high-impact AI use cases that reduce routine engineering tasks, improve decision quality, and increase organizational productivity.
• Build AI capabilities within the FA organization by fostering a culture of continuous learning, experimentation, and technology adoption.
• Partner with global engineering, data science, and business teams to scale AI-enabled solutions and establish best practices across sites.
