Field-based role supporting the South Region

Help healthcare professionals deliver better hearing outcomes

Cochlear develops implantable hearing solutions that help people experience a world of sound. We are looking for a Clinical Technical Specialist to provide expert support to surgeons, audiologists and other healthcare professionals across the South Region of Saudi Arabia.

Based in Abha, you will act as a trusted clinical and technical partner to customers. Your work will span the patient journey, from pre-surgical planning and procedure support to device programming, clinical education and ongoing troubleshooting.

This opportunity combines clinical expertise, education and long-term customer partnership. It will suit someone who enjoys working directly with healthcare professionals and wants to help build sustainable hearing-care capabilities across the region.

The opportunity

In this role, you will:

• Provide clinical and technical guidance across Cochlear’s cochlear implant and acoustic hearing solutions.
• Support surgeons and clinical teams with surgical planning, procedures, device programming, troubleshooting and patient-outcome optimisation.
• Provide pre-operative consultation, intra-operative technical assistance and appropriate post-operative follow-up.
• Design and deliver practical training for surgeons, audiologists, speech therapists and clinical support teams.
• Facilitate workshops, hands-on sessions and clinical education programmes.
• Support the introduction and effective use of new products and software.
• Build trusted relationships with healthcare professionals, clinical champions and other stakeholders.
• Contribute clinical expertise to account planning, tenders, reimbursement discussions and market-development opportunities.
• Represent Cochlear at relevant professional meetings, conferences and educational events.
• Maintain accurate activity and case-support records.
• Work in accordance with Cochlear’s quality and safety procedures, relevant ethical standards and applicable regulatory requirements.

This is a highly mobile field position involving extensive travel across the South Region, including overnight travel and possible travel elsewhere in Saudi Arabia.

What you will bring

You will have:

• A degree in audiology, biomedical engineering, healthcare sciences or another relevant field, with audiology highly preferred.
• Two to three years of relevant experience in clinical audiology or a clinical, technical or customer-facing healthcare environment.
• Experience supporting surgical procedures or working in surgical environments.
• Strong presentation, training and communication skills.
• Professional fluency in Arabic and English.
• The ability to build credible, lasting relationships with healthcare professionals.
• The confidence to work independently and manage changing priorities across a field-based territory.
• A valid driving licence, or the ability to obtain the locally required licence.
• The willingness and flexibility to travel extensively.

Audiologists must hold a current Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) audiology licence.

Experience that would be advantageous

It would be helpful if you have experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

• Cochlear implants, hearing healthcare, ENT devices or implantable medical devices.
• The Saudi healthcare system, including Ministry of Health structures and hospital procurement.
• SFDA regulatory requirements.
• Training or professional education for clinical audiences.
• Healthcare markets in Saudi Arabia, the GCC or the wider Middle East.
• CRM platforms, including Salesforce.
• Reimbursement or health-insurance processes.

You demonstrate cultural awareness, patience and persistence when developing long-term relationships.
