Description
As a Data Governance & Transformation Lead, you will operationalize data governance across Fresenius operating companies, including Master Data Governance. As the coordination layer of a federated governance model, you connect Group-wide standards with local execution and establish consistent ownership and stewardship structures.
You will work across business and IT, engaging stakeholders up to executive level and enabling governance teams in the operating companies. Your work connects governance with business value, so that governed data can be trusted, understood, and used effectively across the Group.
Your responsibilities:
Coordinate cross-organizational data governance across operating companies and align local execution with Group-wide standards.
Drive the consistent implementation of governance frameworks, including Master Data Governance standards, ownership models, and stewardship structures.
Advise operating companies on governance design in environments of high complexity, and review governance concepts and solution proposals before they are adopted.
Enable federated governance through practical toolkits, frameworks, and structured guidance for operating company governance teams.
Lead communication, training, and enablement initiatives that strengthen adoption of data governance practices.
Support onboarding and capability development of governance teams in the operating companies.
Monitor governance health through adoption, compliance, and data quality metrics, and translate findings into actionable insights.
Define and manage the governance cadence — forums, working groups, reporting cycles — and maintain decision logs that keep decision-making transparent and consistent.
Act as the first escalation point for cross-company governance conflicts, engaging executive-level stakeholders where decisions cannot be settled locally.
Promote the effective use of governed data assets and integrate governance into enterprise transformation programs.
Your qualifications:
Academic background or comparable professional experience.
At least 15 years of experience in data governance, enterprise data management, or large-scale data transformation environments.
Proven experience designing and implementing governance frameworks across complex, multi-entity organizations.
Strong expertise in Master Data Governance, including data domains, ownership models, and data lifecycle management.
Experience advising senior business and IT stakeholders and influencing decisions within federated or matrix structures without direct authority.
Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change through communication, training, and structured enablement.
Experience with transformation programs such as enterprise resource planning, data platforms, or analytics initiatives that required governance to be integrated.
Solid understanding of regulatory environments such as GDPR and the ability to translate requirements into governance structures.
Proven ability to communicate complex governance topics clearly and persuasively to technical and business audiences at all organizational levels.
Fluent English, written and spoken.
