Vice President, Business Banking Associate Manager

Description

Objective: The Business Banking Associate Manager leads and develops the Business Banking Associate team while serving as a subject matter expert in business banking operations, loan administration, regulatory compliance, and client support. This position provides leadership, coaching, and technical expertise to ensure exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, compliance, and accuracy throughout the lending and deposit relationship lifecycle. The incumbent models Platinum Bank's culture and delivers a high-touch client experience while supporting business growth and operational excellence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, manage, and hold the Business Banking Associate team accountable for performance, service standards, and operational excellence.
• Hire, train, coach, and develop team members.
• Create, maintain, and communicate departmental procedures, workflows, and controls.
• Serve as a resource for complex transactions, customer escalations, and operational issues.
• Promote cross-training, collaboration, and continuous process improvement.
• Partner with lenders, Credit Administration, Loan Operations, Compliance, Accounting, and other business units to achieve organizational objectives.
• Participate in organizational change initiatives and special projects.

Loan Production Oversight:

• Oversee loan pipeline activities to ensure timely processing and service-level commitments.
• Monitor workflow reports and production metrics. Such As: post-closing, collateral perfection, and exception tracking.
• Support conventional, consumer, and SBA loan originations, renewals, modifications, and servicing activities.
• Maintain customer and loan records, process transactions and disbursements, and resolve exceptions.

Compliance & Risk Management

• Serve as the subject matter expert for regulatory requirements including HMDA, CRA, Flood Insurance, Adverse Action, and other applicable lending regulations.
• Monitor compliance with federal and state laws, internal policies, and regulatory expectations.
• Identify, escalate, and assist in resolving compliance and operational risk issues.
• Provide compliance guidance and training to lending and operations staff.
• Partner with Risk Management, Internal Audit, and external examiners during audits and examinations.

Policy, Process & Financial Oversight

• Participate in the development, and communication to Business Banking Associates of loan policy and procedural updates.
• Evaluate operational impacts of regulatory and policy changes and recommend solutions.
• Drive process improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, controls, and customer experience.
• Oversee loan-related general ledger balancing and reconciliations.
• Partner with Accounting and Operations to investigate and resolve discrepancies.

Customer & Operational Support

• As a hands on manager, provide operational support and backup coverage for the Business Banking Associate team by:
• Supporting loan and deposit account onboarding activities.
• Performing customer due diligence and CIP requirements.
• Coordinating documentation, closings, and post-closing activities.
• Assisting customers with account maintenance, construction draws, service requests, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborating with third-party vendors and internal partners to facilitate lending and deposit operations.
• Delivering exceptional customer service consistent with the Platinum Client Experience.

Other Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned. 

Requirements

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and banking experience.
• Five or more years of banking, lending, loan operations, or related experience preferred.
• Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience with commercial, business banking, SBA lending, or loan administration preferred.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and banking technology platforms.
• Experience with Jack Henry, nCino, or similar systems preferred.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to perform work in a typical office environment.
• Frequent sitting, computer use, and communication with customers and team members.
• Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds.
