AdvantageCare Rehabilitation is looking for a Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team at Shore Health & Rehabilitation Center in Parksley, Virginia.

What Will You Do as a PTA?

Working under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist, you'll help carry out individualized treatment plans designed to improve patients' mobility and functional independence.

Your day may include:

• Providing therapeutic exercise and functional activities
• Working on strength, balance, gait, transfers and endurance
• Helping patients improve bed mobility and functional movement
• Providing gait training and assistive-device education
• Working on fall-prevention and safety strategies
• Monitoring patients' response to treatment
• Communicating progress and changes to the supervising Physical Therapist
• Educating patients, families and caregivers
• Collaborating with PT, OT, SLP, nursing and other members of the care team
• Completing accurate and timely documentation
• Encouraging patients through every stage of their rehabilitation journey

What We're Looking For

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Current or eligible Virginia Physical Therapist Assistant license
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with a Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team
• Skilled nursing, geriatric or rehabilitation experience is a plus, but not required
• New graduate PTAs are encouraged to apply
