PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
As a member of the Community Services Department, this position will oversee a program and the participants (in their designated recreational program) in a variety of activities in a friendly, engaging, and caring environment. They ensure safety and answer general questions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a member of the Community Services Department, this position will oversee a program and the participants (in their designated recreational program) in a variety of activities in a friendly, engaging, and caring environment. They ensure safety and answer general questions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent the City of Belleville in a professional manner with appropriate actions and conduct.
- Ensure the safety and supervision of the participants by following all rules and regulations set out by the Department and/or outside organizations.
- Responsible for the completion of attendance and any required paperwork as per the Department Procedures.
- Responsible for problem-solving when issues arise and to provide quality customer service.
- Assume the responsibility for assessing and responding in an emergency situation and completing the necessary reports.
- Ensure with the proper handling and care of the equipment, supplies and facilities utilized, and reporting damages or losses to Programmer.
- Ensure the cleanliness of the facility at the end of each program.
- Completion of the required administrative forms (ie. Injury, incident forms, supply requests, daily logs, etc.).
- Attend all staff training sessions and scheduled staff meetings.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/SPECIALIZED SKILLS & WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum enrolled in Highschool, or equivalent
- Standard First Aid with CPR-C or Intermediate First Aid with CPR-C and AED
- A satisfactory Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check
Preferred Qualifications:
- High Five – Principles of Healthy Child Development or Older Adult certification
- Enrolled in a post-secondary school child-related, recreation, social work or related field of study
- Experience planning and implementing recreation programs
- Excellent Customer Service skills
