Purpose:
The Commercial Business Development Officer is responsible for expanding Pi Energy’s reach through lead generation across various market segments, closing deals, and leveraging customer-centric approaches. The role encompasses generating and developing customer pipelines, engaging customers, acquiring and managing assigned accounts and leads, managing contracts, closing opportunities, and providing after-sales customer support.
The role also includes maintaining CRM logs of on-the-ground customer and market feedback and communicating customer requirements to the Arsenal and CBD teams. These insights contribute to the continuous enhancement of Pi Energy’s products, solutions, and value propositions.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Business Development and Customer Engagement
Develop and handle end-to-end customer pipeline and ensure that existing accounts are managed and engaged regularly – as needed or in quarterly business review of key accounts.
Ensure project proposals from the Business Development teams are aligned with the customer’s requirements, including the necessary supporting components, simulations, and technical requirements. Also ensure that the proposal is aligned with the customer’s budget, if possible.
Lead Coverage and Engagement
Qualify, develop and implement coverage plans within the assigned area, and create opportunities up to closing of contracts to achieve revenue target (monthly sales target)
Implement internal processes and guidelines to effectively generate, qualify, and develop leads within the assigned area of coverage.
Ensure complete, accurate, and timely CRM logging and updating of all opportunities throughout the sales cycle.
Contract Acquisition and Management
Conduct bidding preparatory works and prepare for competitive selection processes (pricing/commercial strategy, supplier’s accreditation requirements, bidding requirements, proposals, etc.)
Negotiate proposals and contracts, and secure contracts for various products; ensure that closing, signing and execution are realized within the agreed turnaround times with the customer.
Respond to and log customer inquiries and requests, resolve concerns and issues to maintain and further reinforce customer engagement in a timely manner prioritizing urgent and critical customer concerns.
Conduct contract-related due diligence/risk management compliance, communicate significant findings in collaboration with the Business Development teams.
External Networking
Actively participate in the company's networking activities such as seminars, exhibits and sponsorships.
Serve as the primary First Gen / Pi Energy representative to various institutions to build connections and facilitate business growth.
Data Administration and Reporting
Gather and manage data for market analysis through the use of basic data analysis methodologies.
Make routine reports on market and customer analysis using word processing and spreadsheet capabilities and provide to the Business Development team.
Update customer Salesforce data in a timely manner in the CRM (stage of the sales process each customer is at, key notes, next steps) and ensure veracity/completeness of data per customer for review, analysis, and insights generation.
Update Pi Energy Sales Tracker real-time to track sales opportunities, wins, and losses.
Submit timely financial reports (cash advance, liquidation) for logistical and business-related expenses.

Minimum Requirements:
Graduate of a business-related or engineering course; preferably Management, Marketing, Economics, or Electrical Engineering
At least 2 years of working experience in Business Development or retail sales (B2B sales or account management)
Experienced in the energy/power industry is preferred
Experienced in Technical sales
Experienced in working with a variety of stakeholders including C-level relationship building
