Senior Accountant
Location: Kansas City, MO
Work Arrangement: Primarily onsite. After training, there may be an option to work from home one day per week.
Salary: $80,000 to $105,000 annually
Position Overview
Seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support accounting operations, financial reporting, and month-end and year-end close activities. This role works closely with finance leadership and cross-functional teams to maintain accurate financial records, strengthen internal controls, and provide financial insights for business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain the general ledger.
- Support audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Analyze financial results, variances, and key performance metrics.
- Improve financial reporting and accounting processes.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting policies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial and operational objectives.
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and subsidiary financial reporting as needed.
- Use ERP systems and financial data to identify trends and improve reporting efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of manufacturing accounting experience required.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or MBA preferred but not required.
