Description
Structural Engineer An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a well-established Structural Engineering company as a Structural Engineer. This role offers the chance to take ownership of projects, collaborate with leading architects and contractors, and contribute to the design and delivery of reinforced concrete, steel, and timber structures. Based in Cape Town, the position is ideal for a motivated professional with 3–6 years’ experience who is eager to grow their career while playing a key role in project success. Responsibilities:
• Be the internal project leader for smaller to medium size projects
• Manage other designers and drafts people on the project team, including review and providing guidance.
• Communicate and work together with the other role players on a project (clients, professionals, and contractors)
• Especially be able to workshop solutions with the architects.
• Conduct structural designs for reinforced concrete, structural steel, and timber structures.
• Prepare structural drawings
• Prepare reinforcing bending schedules
• Conduct site inspection and attend contract meetings
• Assist the team to continually improve systems and processes
• Be an integral part of the business to ensure project and business success Requirements:
• Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) / Bachelor of Technology (BTech)
• 3 - 6 experience as a Structural Engineer
• Competent in using Revit, Prokon design software and Microsoft software
• Be well familiar with the relevant SANS codes and Building Regulations
• Must have a driver’s licence and car to travel to meetings and construction site
• Be able to work alone and in teams
• Be able to work fast and effectively
• Have good energy and passion to learn and grow his/her career
