Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Cardiff to assist with the appointment of a Deputy Officer, on a 3-month contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: £18.97 - £24.87 per hour
Summary:
The Deputy Officer will assist in the day-to-day management and administration of the home, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and delivering high-quality, person-centred care. The role involves leading and supporting staff, promoting young people's safety and wellbeing, encouraging independence and ensuring their voices are heard in decisions affecting their lives.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Manager with the day-to-day management, administration and development of the children's residential home, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
- Ensure young people receive sensitive, individualised care that meets their social, racial, medical, psychological, educational, cultural and physical needs.
- Promote the health, safety, wellbeing and identity of children and young people, supporting their personal development and independence.
- Empower young people to express their views and participate in decisions concerning their lives, futures and care arrangements.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with families, carers, professionals and other relevant individuals, encouraging consultation and participation.
- Promote integration within the local community by supporting young people to access local facilities and activities and developing positive community relationships.
Qualification:
- Relevant qualification meeting the equivalent criteria for registration with Social Care Wales.
- Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People).
Essentials:
- Good knowledge of the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 and other relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of child development and an understanding of the needs of vulnerable children and young people.
- Experience of staff management, supervision and supporting the professional development of a team.
- Experience of working with a behaviour support model of care.
- Ability to undertake and complete assessments and contribute to care planning.
