About Marvell
Marvell’s semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities.
At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead.
Your Team, Your Impact
Marvell's Global Marketing organization exists to accelerate Marvell's growth by delivering impactful outcomes and services that elevate our brand, captivate our target audiences, and exceed stakeholder expectations. The organization encompasses communications, digital, events, social, analyst relations, market research, and product and technology marketing, working closely with Marvell's business units, investor relations, finance, HR, and executive staff to ensure our messaging and positioning resonate with diverse global audiences. The Sr. Staff Manager, Market Intelligence – Market Modeling is a high-visibility role at the analytical core of Marvell’s new Market Intelligence function. You will own how Marvell sizes and understands its markets — building the outside-in market models — from TAM/SAM/SOM to the signal and scenario models that inform critical business decisions. Partnering hand-in-hand with Finance, Sales, Investor Relations, and each business unit, you will turn incomplete, fast-moving market signals into a defensible, always-on view of where the market is going and what it means for Marvell. Just as important as the analysis is the mindset: you are naturally curious, challenge assumptions, apply an AI-first approach to the work, find creative ways through incomplete data, and build strong, collaborative partnerships across the business.
What You Can Expect
Market Modeling
- Build and own Marvell’s TAM and related market models — bottoms-up and top-down — starting with TAM/SAM/SOM and extending into market and signal models that inform supply and demand decisions across data center, AI infrastructure, custom silicon, interconnect, optical, networking, and storage.
- Establish a defensible, repeatable market-sizing methodology: segment definitions, source hierarchy, assumptions, and treatment of overlap between adjacent markets.
- Model new, emerging, and first-to-market opportunities — sizing markets where no established category or competing solution yet exists, building the view from the ground up.
- Partner closely with Finance, Sales, Investor Relations, and each business unit to keep Marvell’s view of its addressable opportunity current as conditions change.
- Use early market signals to flag shifts that inform supply and allocation, strategic priorities, market messaging, and investment decisions — including new-market and white-space opportunities — sizing where Marvell should play and the scale of the opportunity.
Forecasting & Scenario Analysis
- Develop outside-in multi-year market forecasts and demand models, incorporating hyperscaler capex, AI-infrastructure build-out, and end-market demand drivers.
- Build base / upside / downside scenarios and sensitivity analyses that stress-test assumptions and quantify risk to the outlook.
- Translate macro and industry signals — earnings calls, analyst data, supply-demand dynamics — into revisions to the market view.
- Maintain a living view of the market that updates as conditions change, rather than a point-in-time study.
Data Science & Analytical Rigor
- Apply data-science methods — statistical modeling, regression, and machine-learning techniques — to improve forecast accuracy and surface patterns across large, messy market datasets.
- Build reproducible, well-documented models and pipelines (e.g.,Python, SQL, Excel) that others can trust, audit, and extend.
- Apply modern AI tooling (LLMs, agents, automation) to accelerate research, synthesize sources, and stress-test models.
- Bring rigor and creativity to sparse-data problems: triangulate across multiple, varied datasets to validate estimates — not a simple average of numbers — and construct and defend bottom-up views from incomplete disclosures.
Data Sources & Infrastructure
- Own Marvell’s market data end to end, from sourcing and vendor relationships to governance, as the single source of truth that executives, BUs, IR, and Finance rely on.
- Source, integrate, and govern internal and external data — third-party subject-matter experts, standard market research, and non-traditional or alternative datasets that bring additional clarity, alongside equity and industry data, customer signals, and internal inputs.
- Define the data and reporting requirements and operationalize a living dashboard and systematic data infrastructure that scale the models.
Insight & Cross-Functional Partnership
- Translate complex market models into clear, decision-ready recommendations for senior leadership, delivered in the right medium for the audience: PowerPoint narratives, self-serve dashboards, models, or briefs.
- Partner with Finance, Sales, Investor Relations, and Business Units to align on a single, defensible market view.
- Support ad-hoc project-level analysis as needed, providing data and insights to drive decision-making.
- Support Board, earnings, planning, and strategy cycles with authoritative market sizing and outlook.
- Serve as a trusted analytical advisor to the AVP, Market Intelligence & Analyst Relations, marketing leadership, and ultimately the executive team — turning data into business decisions.
What We're Looking For
- BS in a quantitative discipline (economics, statistics, data science, engineering, finance, or similar); MS/MBA strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in market modeling, TAM/market sizing, demand forecasting, equity research, or quantitative market intelligence — ideally within semiconductors, data infrastructure, or an adjacent technology industry.
- Dedicated, hands-on experience building TAM/SAM and market-sizing models from the ground up — bottoms-up and top-down.
- Experience modeling new, emerging, or first-to-market markets — where established data and comparable solutions are limited or absent.
- A finance-oriented analytical background with strong financial- and market-modeling skills; able to build and defend models from incomplete data.
- An AI-first mindset: demonstrated depth in applying AI and machine-learning techniques — not just scripting and automation — to modeling, research, and analysis, and a drive to continually push the function’s use of AI further.
- Able to translate complex quantitative analysis into decision-ready recommendations for executive stakeholders.
Preferred
- Prior experience in a dedicated market intelligence, corporate strategy, or industry-analyst function.
- Experience with semiconductor, data center, cloud, or AI-infrastructure markets at a deep technical and commercial level.
- Experience partnering with Finance / FP&A on planning, outlook, and market models.
- Experience presenting market and forecasting analysis directly to C-suite and board audiences.
- A genuinely collaborative, partner-driven working style — builds trust across Finance, Sales, BUs, and IR, and works with them rather than around them.
- Exceptional executive communication and storytelling, with experience influencing senior audiences.
- Intellectually curious and creative — questions assumptions, challenges the status quo, and finds inventive approaches to hard, ambiguous problems.
