Our people at JLL are shaping the future of real estate for a better world by combining world class services, advisory and technology for our clients. We are committed to hiring the best, most talented people and empowering them to thrive, grow meaningful careers and to find a place where they belong.  Whether you’ve got deep experience in commercial real estate, skilled trades or technology, or you’re looking to apply your relevant experience to a new industry, join our team as we help shape a brighter way forward.

What this job involves:

As a Hospitality Assistant Manager at JLL, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional food and beverage operations and catering events that elevate the workplace experience. Working closely with the Hospitality Manager, you will oversee event execution from planning through cleanup, enforce service standards, and build strong relationships with clients and vendors. At JLL, we are collectively shaping a brighter way — for our clients, ourselves and our fellow employees. In this dynamic environment, you will lead with a "customer-first" mindset, ensuring smooth daily operations while actively mentoring team members. What sets JLL apart is our culture of collaboration, locally and across the globe, and in this role, you will bring that culture to life by aligning diverse stakeholders and maintaining high-quality service delivery.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Assist the Hospitality Manager in coordinating catering events and food and beverage operations, ensuring seamless execution from pre-event preparation to post-event cleanup.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, departments, and team members to anticipate needs, resolve issues proactively, and ensure consistent client satisfaction.
  • Manage equipment, stock inventory, and pantry supplies efficiently, ensuring adequate levels and proper storage.
  • Coordinate closely with external caterers and vendors to ensure seamless service alignment and high-quality delivery.
  • Enforce service standards, safety, and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic environment in kitchen and pantry areas.
  • Prepare monthly reports on room utilization and catering event expenditures to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Run daily department briefings and team meetings, actively sharing insights and feedback to continuously improve team performance.
  • Coordinate leave monitoring systems and arrange adequate shift coverage, stepping in to cover shifts during manpower shortages to support each other's wellbeing and champion inclusivity and belonging across teams.
  • Identify operational risks or safety concerns and report them to management immediately to ensure a safe, high-performing workspace.

Required qualifications:

  • At least 15 or more years of relevant experience in hospitality, catering, or food and beverage management, with a proven track record of coordinating events and daily operations.
  • Proven experience in hospitality, catering, or food and beverage management, with a strong background in coordinating events and daily operations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with a wide range of clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, manage multiple simultaneous requests, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, "customer-first" mindset to address client needs swiftly and effectively.
  • Proficiency in PC systems, including email, internet applications, and general workplace software, to manage daily administrative activities.
  • Thorough understanding of health, safety, and sanitation standards within a commercial kitchen or pantry setting.
  • Strong collaborative skills, reflecting our belief that the most effective teams are built when everyone is empowered to thrive.
  • High level of ethical judgment, integrity, and personal accountability for service outcomes.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior experience in corporate hospitality settings or managing service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, and assigning responsibilities to colleagues to foster professional growth.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to last-minute operational changes and unexpected event scenarios.
  • Familiarity with monitoring room utilization metrics and managing vendor-related budgets.
  • A desire to grow professionally within JLL, as we embrace more innovative ways of working and prioritize opportunities to strengthen and advance your career.
