A career at Roblox means you’ll be working to shape the future of human interaction, solving unique technical challenges at scale, and helping to create safer, more civil shared experiences for everyone.

  • The Facilities & Workplaces Project Specialist will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of capital projects across Roblox headquarters. This role will focus on managing office build-outs, renovations, infrastructure upgrades, reconfigurations, decommissions, and other capital improvements from initial planning through project closeout. This role will also complete commissioning, operational readiness, and the successful handoff of completed projects to the Facilities team responsible for the ongoing workplace experience and day-to-day operations.

This role will serve as a strategic partner and liaison amongst Facilities, Corporate Engineering, Security, Finance, Legal, business leaders, landlords, architects, consultants, contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders.

This role is on-site at San Mateo HQ Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM.

    You Will:

    • Manage the complete lifecycle of assigned capital projects, including programming, scope development, design, budgeting, procurement, construction, commissioning, closeout, and operational handoff.
    • Support capital projects across Roblox headquarters and remote offices, including international locations.
    • Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, milestones, success metrics, and implementation plans.
    • Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants, general contractors, subcontractors, furniture vendors, technology partners, landlords, and internal stakeholders.
    • Lead project meetings and maintain clear documentation of decisions, responsibilities, risks, action items, and next steps.
    • Monitor project schedules, budgets, risks, change orders, and deliverables to ensure projects remain aligned with approved scope, cost, quality, and timing.
    • Review design drawings, specifications, construction documents, proposals, bids, and contracts for completeness and alignment with Roblox standards.
    • Coordinate with Procurement to develop bid packages, evaluate proposals, support vendor selection, and procure project-related services.
    • Review certificates of insurance for compliance and coordinate required documentation with vendors, landlords, Legal, and Risk.
    • Assist with annual capital planning, budget development, expenditure scheduling, forecasting, variance analysis, and corrective actions.
    • Support budget oversight by comparing actual project costs and commitments against approved budgets and forecasts.
    • Coordinate with Finance on purchase orders, invoices, accruals, forecasts, and project financial reporting.
    • Support contract management, invoicing, document control, change-order tracking, and project closeout documentation.
    • Serve as the primary liaison with Legal, Finance, Corporate Engineering, Human Resources, Global Security, Procurement, landlords, and other internal partners throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Coordinate construction access, security requirements, site logistics, shutdowns, inspections, testing, and work performed outside normal business hours.
    • Create and support communication plans aligned with project schedules, milestones, service interruptions, relocations, and completion dates.
    • Identify project risks, dependencies, and potential delays, and develop mitigation plans before they affect project delivery.
    • Develop project-specific success metrics and reporting to measure schedule, budget, quality, stakeholder satisfaction, and overall project performance.
    • Provide clear and consistent project updates to leadership, business partners, and affected employees.
    • Coordinate project-related furniture, fixtures, equipment, signage, technology, security, and workplace requirements.
    • Oversee project commissioning, punch-list completion, warranty documentation, training, asset information, and final acceptance.
    • Develop and maintain a formal project handoff process for the Facilities team, including operating manuals, warranties, as-built drawings, vendor contacts, preventive-maintenance requirements, training materials, and open-item tracking.
    • Partner with the Facilities team during the transition period to ensure completed spaces, equipment, amenities, and building systems are functional and ready to support employees.
    • Resolve project-related warranty, construction-defect, or incomplete-work issues before transferring full ownership to Facilities operations.
    • Provide limited post-occupancy support to confirm that completed projects meet operational and employee-experience expectations.
    • Provide general administrative and coordination support for project teams and local leadership, depending on project location.
    • Support the team as needed with capital projects, operational transitions, and other duties as assigned.

    You Have:

    • 7–10+ years of experience managing corporate capital projects, workplace construction, office build-outs, renovations, or related facilities projects.
    • Demonstrated experience managing projects through the complete lifecycle, from initial planning and design through construction, commissioning, closeout, and operational handoff.
    • Strong knowledge of project scope, scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, procurement, contract administration, change management, risk management, and document control.
    • Ability to read and interpret architectural, engineering, design, and construction documents.
    • Experience coordinating architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, landlords, vendors, and cross-functional internal partners.
    • Strong cross-functional relationship building, collaborative problem-solving, teamwork, KPI implementation, project planning, program development, and project management skills.
    • Strong financial and analytical skills, including budget tracking, variance analysis, forecasting, invoice review, and change-order evaluation.
    • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple capital projects and competing priorities simultaneously.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to provide clear project updates to stakeholders and leadership.
    • Ability to work independently, identify risks, make informed decisions, and drive projects through completion.
