Job Description:
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE: To understand and meet customer expectations and requirements of part and process inspection
This role reports to the Quality Manager. Note that working safely, wearing PPE and following safety processes is a condition of employment at ITW Heartland.
Job Duties:
- To inspect parts and process using a variety of inspection methods and equipment.
- Assist with the scheduling of the calibration of inspection equipment.
- Will operate all necessary inspection equipment and may assist in programming.
- Plans own work to meet requirements of production schedule.
- Meets all standards set forth by company QMS (Quality Management System)
- Handles all defective parts per QMS MRB procedures
- Completes all necessary paper work in a timely manner.
- Assist with first article inspection and documentation requirements per AS9102
- Provide assistance with customer source inspections
- Participate in business QRB as assigned
- May be asked to direct the work of others to expedite parts flow and provide training as needed.
- Communicates with supervisor, managers, CSRs, customers, and suppliers.
- Able to work within a team.
- Performs all work within ISO protocol
- Follow safety and good housekeeping practices
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience
- Technical School graduate in Machine Shop or Machine Tool design or equivalent or a minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a manufacturing setting preferred.
- Ability to use various inspection equipment.
- Experience reading blue prints and understand the geometric tolerance system
- Understand equipment calibration system

· Carry up to 50 lbs.-frequently

· Lift overhead up to 35 lbs.-frequently

ENVIRONMENTAL EXPOSURES:
· Moving objects slight forklift traffic
· Noise level slight machine noise
· Safety glasses with side shields required in the shop
· Leather foot wear required in the shop

VISION AND HEARING:
· Looking at parts and measuring equipment

Compensation Information:
$22 to $26 per hour depending on experiencefor level II Technician
up to $30 per hour for level III Technician depending on experience
