Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Manager, Field Engineering Services (1) for our Launcher Systems business unit. The successful candidate for this opportunity will be responsible for supervising/ managing Field Service Engineers who are engaged in the repairs of Northrop Grumman shipboard power generation and main propulsion equipment on U.S. Naval Ships.
Focus areas will include:
- Day to day management of direct report field engineers
- Coordinating shipment of tools and materials, customer facility access, project manning to facilitate on-site field repair efforts
- Coordinating support from internal Northrop Grumman assets as needed to complete repair efforts
- Field Service administrative tasking such as reviewing/ approving expense reports and time entry, administering quarterly connections, and expanding employee development
- Hiring and onboarding of new field engineers
- Oversight / coordination / administrative support of field engineer training
- Review issued customer purchase orders prior to executing work with the assigned field team
- Customer calls for project support
- Participation in reoccurring status meetings
- Provide inputs to customer schedule updates / project tracking
- Weekly forecasting review
- Maintaining field engineer employee records
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
6+ years in the repair / service of shipboard machinery or equivalent
Excellent communication skills
Strong computer skills (MS Office, SAP)
Able to manage multiple projects in a fast paced, dynamic work environment Able to obtain a DoD secret security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior Field Service Engineering experience
Familiarity with VA SSTG, VA MPU, CG-47 MRG, LHD MPU, CVN-68 SSTG, Ford Class SSTGs
Technical and working knowledge of shipboard turbine driven power generation and propulsion machinery and support systems
Prior shipyard experience
Active DoD secret security clearance
Primary Level Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
