Lead Analyst

Job Purpose

An exciting opportunity to join an expanding Data and Analytics team and contribute towards intelligence-led change and innovation. 

 

The Lead Analyst will contribute to delivering an effective and high-quality Business Intelligence and Reporting service to Data & Analytics’ stakeholders. The Lead Analyst will help the business to leverage the data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential issues. They will be able to gather requirements, manage stakeholders and schedule data projects.

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Build strong stakeholder relationships in order to understand business challenges and collaboratively define and document precise business requirements for specific projects
• Provide leadership and independent initiatives in facilitating information gathering, structured documentation, and presentation of findings to all levels of the business
• Design, develop, model, and create SQL data structures to integrate, prepare, and generate reports
• Develop and build dashboards and visualizations in Sisense or similar BI tools. (Power BI, Looker, Tableau, etc)
• Work with the Business to ensure they can utilize the output of your projects to enable data. driven decisions
• Break down requirements, simplify architectures, and collaborate with other business teams to deliver intelligent data solutions in line with defined objectives and results
• Liaise with internal and external clients to fully understand data content.
• Identify performance, visualization, and reporting challenges, and suggest code and architecture improvements.

 

Skills & Experience

• Great knowledge of TSQL is a must.
• Good command of BI tools such as Sisense or similar (Power BI, Looker, Tableau, etc).
• Data Warehouse experience.
• Cloud server experience is advantageous, such as GCP or Azure.
• Very good command of Excel.
• Strong problem-solving abilities involving identifying the root cause of problems, assessing risks/impacts, and determining and implementing effective solutions.
• Strong presentation skills and an ability to communicate complex findings to non-technical audiences in a clear, simple way, both written and verbally.
• Analytical aptitude and interest in interrogating data to develop hypotheses and insights.
• Excellent attention to detail and high standards of presentation, especially in relation to written work.
• Ability to manage multiple projects to completion.
• Proactive and forward-thinking.
• Must work well in a team environment.
• Ability to contribute both independently and as part of a team.
