Sales Representative - Food Industry

We're looking for a Sales Representative who shares that passion and enjoys connecting people with great products.

This position will focus on growing our three brands: Great Lakes Farm to Freezer, Food for Thought and Earthy Delights. All have strong roots in Michigan and a commitment to quality, sustainability, and doing business with purpose.

We're based in beautiful Traverse City, Michigan, and would love to have someone join us locally. But we also know the right person might live elsewhere. We're open to remote candidates located in Michigan's Lower Peninsula.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll help get our products into more stores, restaurants, and kitchens while building relationships that last.

A typical week might include:

• Connecting with grocery retailers, foodservice operators, distributors, and other potential customers.
• Building relationships with existing customers and finding opportunities to grow their business.
• Working with food brokers to introduce our products to new markets.
• Sharing the stories behind our brands and helping customers understand what makes our products different.
• Identifying new sales opportunities and developing plans to turn those opportunities into business.
• Attending trade shows, meeting customers, and occasionally traveling to support our brands.
• Working with our marketing, production, and operations teams to make sure we're delivering on our promises.

This isn't just about making a sale. It's about developing relationships, representing products you believe in, and helping our businesses grow.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who enjoys sales, takes ownership of their work, and knows how to build relationships.

You might be a great fit if you:

• Have 3–5 years of sales experience, preferably in food, beverage, grocery, or foodservice.
• Have experience working with food brokers or distributors.
• Enjoy meeting new people and aren't afraid to pick up the phone or open a new door.
• Can work independently, stay organized, and follow through on commitments.
• Are comfortable presenting products, negotiating, and working toward sales goals.
• Have an interest in Michigan agriculture, local food, or sustainable food systems.
• Are willing to travel regularly for customer meetings, trade shows, and other business needs.

A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field is helpful, but experience and the ability to do the job matter more to us.

Compensation & Location

• Base salary: $40,000–$45,000 annually, depending on experience.
• Additional commission opportunities.
• Full-time position.
• Based in Traverse City, Michigan, with remote opportunities available for qualified candidates.
• Travel required for customer visits, industry events, and team meetings.
