Description

Role summary

Reporting to the Director, U.S. Rare Disease Field Enablement Team Lead, the Senior Manager, Rare Cardiac Field Enablement leads strategic and operational initiatives that strengthen the effectiveness of the U.S. Rare Disease Sales and Marketing organization. The role can be based at any U.S. Pfizer site or worked virtually.

As a trusted operational partner to the U.S. Rare Disease leadership team, the Senior Manager simplifies how work gets done, accelerates execution in the field, and equips customer-facing colleagues — including Area Business Managers (ABMs) — with the tools, processes, and insights they need to deliver results. In 2026 and beyond, the role places particular emphasis on digital and AI-enabled ways of working that increase speed, consistency, and impact.

What you’ll do

  • Lead strategic and operational projects across U.S. Rare Disease— spanning launch and in-line brand field-force execution, training, incentive compensation, and deployment planning (e.g., resource development, process improvements, platform/application releases, Rare Disease communications, operating plan and the National DOE network).
  • Advance organizational effectiveness in the selling environment and across U.S. Rare Disease customers, including leading enterprise initiatives such as Control Tower.
  • Serve as operational lead and thought partner and central point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders (e.g., Regional Business Directors, IIS, Incentive Compensation, CFCD Ops, and Marketing), ensuring clear communication and strong alignment both horizontally and vertically.
  • Identify, prioritize, track, and resolve operational needs from across the Rare Disease business; partner with IIS, BAI, Legal, Compliance, Marketing, and contract sales organizations to resolve issues quickly, and manage routine tasks (e.g., data inquiries, Pfizer Align updates, customer alignment) with speed and precision.
  • Lead cross-functional meeting planning and execution for key meetings — including POAs, leadership meetings, and leadership training — in collaboration with customer-facing teams, brand marketing, and training, owning agendas and logistics end to end.
  • Champion AI-enabled and digital ways of working (e.g., Microsoft Copilot and approved generative-AI tools) to streamline processes and lift field productivity.
  • Manage Rare Disease and cross-BU communications and the DOE network in partnership with Operational Excellence leads, ensuring clarity, consistency, and simplicity.
  • Partner with the SC CEP Field Enablement Team to share best practices that foster efficiency and productivity.
  • Proactively surface innovative solutions that simplify processes and free customer-facing colleagues to focus on customers.

Basic qualifications

  • BA/BS degree.
  • 7+ years of pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical sales/marketing experience.
  • U.S. field sales experience with Pfizer Inc.
  • Working knowledge of Veeva, Pfizer Align, and Centris.

Preferred qualifications

  • Rare Disease/Cardiac therapeutic area experience a plus.
  • Experience leading projects regionally or nationally, with demonstrated leadership across peer and manager groups.
  • Experience in applying AI tools to maximize productivity.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Skills & leadership capabilities

The successful candidate brings a breadth of leadership experience — the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, and guide colleagues toward meaningful outcomes and measurable business impact.

  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration, emotional intelligence, and self-awareness.
  • Strong project management and the ability to lead without authority.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, influencing, negotiation, listening, and interpersonal skills that build productive internal and vendor relationships.
  • Ability to communicate with and influence colleagues at all levels, including senior leaders.
  • Strong internal networking to gather information and bring industry best practices into the organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and rigorous attention to detail.
  • Change agility — able to reprioritize quickly in a fluid environment.
  • Comfort adopting current sales-force technology platforms and adapting rapidly to new systems.
  • Proactive anticipation of issues and needs, with initiative and comfort handling ambiguity.
