Description
The ideal candidate will possess at least six months of paid or volunteer experience working with individuals with disabilities. A valid Driver's License is preferred.

Examination Process Only a limited number of the most highly qualified applicants meeting the City's requirements will be invited for an interview. Examination process for this position will include: Panel Interview
- Must demonstrate ability to communicate with parents and program participants professionally and effectively, disseminating information in a timely manner
- Supervises and implements the distribution, care and use of supplies and/or equipment for assigned programs.
- Ensure proper maintenance of recreational facilities and equipment to provide a safe and sanitary environment, notifies supervisor of any problems and/or concerns.
- Completion and filing of accident and statistical reports regarding incidents and issues pertaining to programs, as required.
- Ensure City policies, procedures, rules, and regulations are strictly enforced; responds to and resolves complaints; performs on-site program inspections and evaluations to ensure compliance with program and city safety policies and procedures.
- Attend meetings as assigned. Assist with other recreation programs, as requested. Some positions may require the performance of additional position accountabilities and/or related duties
- Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
- At least 6 months experience working or volunteering with individuals with disabilities is highly preferred
- Experience coaching or playing a sport is preferred, must have ability to help facilitate various Special Olympics practices
- Must provide proof of CPR and First Aid Certifications within one month of hire date.
- Extensive experience coaching a sport is preferred.
