Summary:
The Emergency Department Triage Technician functions as a designated clinical extender and assistant to the Triage Registered Nurse (RN). The primary objective of this role is to accelerate the initial data gathering, diagnostic testing, and transport of arriving patients to optimize overall department throughout. Operating under a strict, non-interpretive scope of work, the position executes protocolized clinical tasks and conducts scheduled safety surveillance within the waiting lobby to maintain a secure environment and mitigate clinical deterioration risks.
Requirements:
Currently certified by the state of Illinois as a CNA or EMT-B license. CPR. Previous ER experience strongly preferred. Ability to care for patients with compassion and maintain quality in a fast pace environment. Must be organized, have excellent communication and customer service skills, great computer skills, must use proper phone etiquette and knowledgeable with Medical Terminology.
