Job Description

As a Security Officer Patrol Access Control in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer in a busy retail location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and support access points as needed. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to visitors, tenants, and/or staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a retail location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and reporting concerns through proper channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout common areas, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor foot traffic, assist with access and crowd management, and support loss prevention awareness by observing and reporting suspicious behavior and/or policy violations.
• Communicate with store personnel, property management, and/or first responders as needed to support daily operations and address security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 2 years of security-related experience is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
