About the Role
The Innovation Business Analyst plays a critical role within Intelligent Operations (IO), identifying operational challenges, emerging trends, and opportunities to drive innovation across the business. The role focuses on translating business needs into scalable digital solutions through structured Proofs of Concept (PoCs), Proofs of Value (PoVs), and innovation pilots that deliver measurable business outcomes.
Working across multiple business units and customer groups, the Innovation Business Analyst bridges the gap between business and technology, demonstrating business analysis methodologies, agile practices, and product-thinking approaches to define requirements, develop value cases, and support the successful deployment of innovative products and digital solutions.
This role requires a strategic problem solver with strong analytical capabilities who can engage collaborators at all levels, challenge conventional thinking, and help shape the future of Intelligent Operations through innovation and continuous improvement.
Key Accountabilities
Innovation & Product Development
Identify operational difficulties, emerging trends, and business opportunities to generate innovative solution concepts.
Shape and incubate innovation ideas into structured PoCs and PoVs, defining hypotheses, measurable success criteria, and desired business outcomes.
Lead innovation initiatives from discovery through validation and successful handoff to Product Owners, Regional Teams, or operational deployment.
Develop robust cases and value propositions for new solutions, quantifying potential benefits, efficiencies, and return on investment.
Support the ownership and management of the Intelligent Operations innovation roadmap, ensuring priorities align with business strategy.
Business Analysis & Requirements Management
Elicit, analyse, document, and manage business requirements using established business analysis methodologies and procedures.
Translate business requirements into detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
Produce functional specifications, process maps, use cases, data flow diagrams, and other artefacts required to support solution development.
Collaborate with interested parties to refine requirements and ensure alignment with business objectives.
Define current-state ("As-Is") and future-state ("To-Be") processes in partnership with Architecture, Product, and Delivery teams.
Customer Engagement & Collaboration
Build strong relationships across business, technology, and supplier communities to drive successful outcomes.
Facilitate workshops, discovery sessions, story refinement sessions, and interested party reviews.
Act as a trusted advisor to business partners, translating complex technical concepts into business-focused language.
Engage global customers across different geographies and cultures to capture requirements, validate solutions, and drive adoption.
Agile Delivery & Product Support
Work closely with Product Owners and development teams within Agile delivery frameworks.
Conduct story refinement and backlog grooming sessions to support development readiness.
Validate delivered functionality against business requirements and expected outcomes.
Organise and facilitate Sprint Reviews and customer demonstrations to gather feedback and drive continuous improvement.
Support business ownership and lifecycle management of designated IO products and solutions.
Continuous Improvement
Analyse business processes and systems to see opportunities for optimisation, automation, and innovation.
Recommend practical and commercially viable solutions that improve efficiency, sustainability, and user experience.
Promote a culture of innovation, experimentation, and learning across the organisation.
Monitor benefits realisation and track outcomes from innovation initiatives.
Experience & Qualifications
Significant experience in Business Analysis, Product Delivery, Innovation, Digital Transformation, or related disciplines.
Demonstrated experience working within Agile environments, including Scrum and Kanban methodologies.
Experience leading multi-functional initiatives involving business and technology partners.
Consistent track record of delivering digital products, automation initiatives, and technology-enabled business improvements.
Experience leading Proofs of Concept, pilots, innovation programmes, or digital transformation projects.
Strong collaborator management experience across multiple organisational levels.
Experience driving requirements gathering, process analysis, and solution validation activities.

This is a global role supporting partners across multiple regions, including Europe, Asia-Pacific, and the Americas.
