We are currently seeking a Full-Time Maintenance Technician for our Laurel, DE location.
This position is primarily responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and general upkeep of equipment, machinery, facilities, and building systems. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and able to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently with minimal supervision.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform or diagnose all maintenance duties in buildings and/or on surrounding properties to include, but not limited to, light fixtures, plumbing, painting, minor HVAC, etc.
- Communicate with the Facilities Manager all outside vendors’ needs regarding services and maintenance supply orders.
- Responsible for general building and ground maintenance.
- Participate in emergency drills and environmental safety activities, as requested.
- Serve as a point of contact for facility alarm response after hours.
- Part of a team responsible for weather (snow) remediation and plowing.
- Attend and participate in all warehouse trainings regarding safety or general information.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work indoors in a warehouse environment which is subject to temperature changes not easily controlled by heating or air conditioning.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time and maneuver effectively around warehouse/stores and warehouse/stores property.
- Must be able to climb, bend, kneel, squat, reach, and/or twist frequently.
- Must be able to lift 500 lbs. safely without causing damage to merchandise or property.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ experience in the maintenance field preferred.
- Knowledge of the challenges and strengths of a business industrial environment.
- Customer Focus, Dependability, Teamwork, Time Management, Equipment Maintenance and Documentation Skills.
- Must be able to use hand tools effectively.
- Ability to work nights and weekends as necessary.
- Ability to multitask and attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others.
- Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.
- Communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking in the English language.
