BRG is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Associate Director to join our growing Competition Economics Practice in Brussels. This senior consulting position is ideal for an analytical problem solver with strong leadership capabilities, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality economic analysis in complex competition and antitrust matters.
As an Associate Director, you will play a key role in both the execution and oversight of client engagements, leading multidisciplinary teams, managing client relationships, and contributing to the continued growth of the practice. You will work on a variety of high-profile competition and antitrust cases, applying rigorous economic analysis to real-world business challenges.

Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Delivery
Lead and oversee engagement workstreams, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery of client work.
Manage, mentor, and develop junior consultants, providing guidance, supervision, and constructive feedback.
Delegate responsibilities effectively while maintaining accountability for project outcomes.
Review analyses and deliverables to ensure accuracy, consistency, and excellence.
Economic & Quantitative Analysis
Design and execute sophisticated economic, statistical, and quantitative analyses.
Develop and apply economic models using transactional, industry, and market datasets.
Conduct competition economics and antitrust analyses across a range of industries.
Apply creative and innovative analytical approaches to solve complex client issues.
Client Management
Build and maintain strong client relationships through trusted advisory support.
Present findings and recommendations clearly to clients, counsel, and other stakeholders.
Contribute to expert reports and other client-facing deliverables.
Business Development & Practice Growth
Support the expansion of client relationships and participate in BD initiatives i.e networking events.
Lead or contribute to project proposals and business development initiatives.
Develop thought leadership through publications, conference presentations, and industry articles.
Stay informed of developments in competition policy, economics, and regulatory practice.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree or PhD in Economics.
Proven experience in competition economics analysis, ideally within a consultancy environment.
Proven ability to manage projects, teams, and multiple stakeholder relationships.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
Commitment to delivering rigorous, high-quality work.
Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Able to demonstrate a commitment and interest in growing the practice from mentoring and managing junior staff to actively participating in Business Development activities (no BD targets are included in this role).
Preferred Experience
5-10 years consulting experience in one of the leading competition consultancies
Deep knowledge of EU competition law and experience working with relevant competition authorities.
Experience supporting merger control, state aid or litigation matters.
Proficiency with statistical and data analysis tools such as Stata, R, Python, SAS, or similar platforms.
Language Requirements
Native or near-native fluency in English and one other European languagewith excellent written and verbal communication skills.
