The Peter Guo-hua Fu School of Architecture is seeking a motivated, creative, and currently enrolled McGill student to fill a Communications Assistant B position. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the School's Instagram and Facebook accounts.

This role is ideal for a student with a strong interest in social media, photography, visual storytelling, and community engagement. The Communications Assistant will help showcase the School's activities, achievements, and culture by sourcing, creating, and sharing content that highlights students, faculty, events, and academic programs.

The successful candidate will contribute to strengthening the School's online presence and fostering engagement within the McGill and broader architecture communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle the School of Architecture's Instagram and Facebook accounts.

  • Source and curate photographs, videos, and other visual content that highlights student work, events, and activities.

  • Build connections with students across all School programs to encourage content sharing and participation.

  • Create and schedule social media posts in collaboration with one of the School Professors.

  • Follow established School guidelines and house style for captions, messaging, and engagement.

  • Monitor social media activity and interact professionally with followers and partner accounts.

Qualifications:

  • Current student in good standing.

  • Basic familiarity with social media platforms, particularly Instagram and Facebook.

  • Interest in photography, visual communication, and digital content creation.

  • Strong interpersonal and networking skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Strong written communication skills.

  • French language proficiency is considered an asset.

The Communications Assistant B will work closely with one of the School Professors who will provide guidance on content development, the School's writing style, and best practices for online engagement.

High School Diploma 1 Year Related Experience

Hourly Salary:

(AMUSE B) $16.85
