Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Respiratory Therapist, you will help to provide and coordinate high quality respiratory therapy upon the order of a licensed physician to promote the health and recovery of patients served by the St. Alexius Medical Center.
Every day you will perform basic respiratory therapies, including but are not limited to; aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene, volume expansion, oxygen therapy, diagnostics, patient/family education, invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation, and patient transport. Drawing, analyzing and reporting results from arterial, venous, capillary and spinal fluid samples for Point of Care testing.
To be successful in this role, you must develop therapeutic goals and formulate care plans for patients. You will provide life-enhancing, life-supporting quality care to the elderly, adult, adolescent, children and infant patient populations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide patient education on the proper use and maintenance of all home respiratory care equipment.
- Complete routine and emergent home visits to address compliance and education concerns.
- Conduct phone calls to patients, referrals sources and physicians to coordinate patient care.
- Complies with patient care and documentation procedures to ensure patient protection and safety.
- Monitor patients for compliance with physician prescription and understanding of equipment and supplies.
- Responsible for provision of invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.
$30,000 sign on bonus available to eligible candidates
Job Requirements
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited/AMA certified School of Respiratory Therapy. An Associate/Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy is preferred.
- Licensed with the North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
