Our products support demanding applications across industrial, medical, semiconductor, aerospace, and other critical markets. We are looking for a Failure Analysis Test Technician who enjoys figuring out why something isn't working and wants to build a career in electronics troubleshooting and failure analysis. In this hands-on role, you will investigate failures in power conversion products, perform electrical and functional testing, troubleshoot electronic assemblies, and work alongside experienced technicians and engineers to identify root causes. You will have the opportunity to develop your skills with industry-standard test equipment while gaining valuable experience with AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion technologies.

What You'll Do:

Troubleshooting & Failure Analysis

• Perform component-level troubleshooting and failure analysis of AC-DC, DC-DC, and custom power conversion products.

• Investigate customer-reported failures and reproduce failure conditions when possible.

• Perform detailed visual, electrical, and functional inspections of electronic assemblies.

• Use schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs), and other technical documentation to troubleshoot products.

• Apply structured problem-solving techniques to identify failure modes and potential root causes.

• Support recommendations and corrective actions to help prevent recurring failures.

Testing & Diagnostics

• Perform functional testing of power supplies and electronic assemblies in accordance with established procedures.

• Conduct electrical measurements using laboratory test equipment.

• Use equipment such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and power analyzers.

• Assist with environmental, operational, and reliability testing.

• Accurately record test results, observations, and failure conditions.

Documentation & Continuous Improvement

• Document failure modes, troubleshooting activities, and investigation results clearly and accurately.

• Prepare failure analysis and technical reports.

• Enter repair and failure analysis information into company databases and ERP systems.

• Maintain organized records and documentation throughout an investigation.

• Work with technicians and engineers to identify opportunities for product and process improvement.

What We're Looking For:

We are looking for someone who is curious, mechanically and electrically inclined, detail-oriented, and enjoys solving problems.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics Technology, Electronic Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent hands-on technical experience.

• Basic understanding of electronic circuits and components.

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

• Familiarity with common electronic test equipment, including:

  • Digital Multimeters (DMMs)

  • Oscilloscopes

  • DC power supplies

  • Electronic loads

  • Power analyzers

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to follow technical procedures and work instructions.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a technical team.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience as an electronics, electrical, or test technician.

• Experience troubleshooting electronic assemblies or power supplies.

• Familiarity with AC-DC and/or DC-DC power conversion.

• Soldering and electronic assembly experience.

• Experience using ERP, repair, or data collection systems.

• Exposure to root cause analysis, failure analysis, or structured problem-solving methods.

Pay Range: $25.00 – $30.00 per hour

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing testing and troubleshooting.

• Ability to work with small electronic components and assemblies.

• Ability to distinguish component markings and wire colors.

• Ability to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.

• Ability to safely work around energized electronic equipment while following established safety procedures.
