Production Support Specialist

Description

As the Production Planning/STS Support/Float, you keep seed production and Seed Technology Services work moving by entering work orders, coordinating order and shipping activities, maintaining records, and covering work where the team needs capacity. You connect customers, coworkers, and lab production activities so work is completed accurately, on time, and with consistent quality. When done well, the role keeps customer service reliable while helping the team respond to seasonal and changing workload needs.

Job Responsibilities

• Enter Seed Production work orders using SAP to maintain a consistent production workflow.
• Coordinate STS order intake, preparation work, database entry, paperwork, shipping, and customer communications so requests move through the process accurately and on time.
• Provide timely, professional service to internal and external customers and communicate information clearly as work progresses.
• Maintain process documentation and communicate updates so coworkers have current information for completing the work.
• Share responsibilities across STS and Lab Production, moving between work areas to maintain consistent quality while meeting deadlines.
• Follow quality control measures and watch for signs of tampering or contamination during the work.
• Cross-train and float into plug testing, priming, seed pelleting, and seed coating work, including work with machinery, when capacity is needed.
• Participate in continuous improvement exercises and adapt work practices as needs and requirements change.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma/GED.
• Ability to enter and maintain records in a computer system.
• Verbal and written communication skills for communicating with internal and external customers.
• 1+ year of experience working in an office environment or with seed.
• Microsoft Office experience.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
• Basic math and computer skills.

Physical Requirements

• Sitting/standing: 100% per day.
• Lift/carry: 40 lbs., 5% per day.
• Push/pull: 50 lbs., 10% per day.
• Kneeling/bending: 20% per day.
• Reaching above shoulder level: 15% per day.
• Climbing/balance using a step stool: 5% per day.
• Use of hands/fingers: 100% per day.
• Cold environment: 5°C / 41°F, 5% per day.

Hourly Pay Range: $18 – 20 / hour
