The Lead UI Designer is a key leadership position within Pluxee’s Product Design organization, responsible for defining, evolving, and scaling the global Design System. As a design authority in User Interface (UI), this role ensures consistency, accessibility, and visual excellence across all digital touchpoints while managing a team of UI Designers and supporting Product Designers with component-level guidance.Reporting to the VP of Design, the Lead UI Designer plays a strategic and operational role in shaping how UI translates Pluxee’s brand identity into scalable, intuitive, and high-performing digital products. The role requires collaboration across Product, Engineering, Design, and Marketing teams to ensure a seamless and unified user experience.

The Lead UI Designer plays a strategic and operational role in shaping how UI translates Pluxee’s brand identity into scalable, intuitive, and high-performing digital products. The role requires collaboration across Product, Engineering, Design, and Marketing teams to ensure a seamless and unified user experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Design System Leadership
Own the vision, governance, and evolution of the Pluxee Design System.
Define, design, and maintain reusable UI components, layouts, templates, and patterns.
Ensure design specifications are consistent, scalable, and aligned with brand guidelines and accessibility standards.
Drive adoption and effective usage of the Design System across squads and countries.
Collaborate with developers (e.g., via Storybook or Zeroheight) to ensure design-developer alignment.
2. UI Design Excellence & Brand Expression
Translate Pluxee’s brand into UI components that reflect our tone, values, and design direction.
Create and document interaction design principles and micro-interactions.
Deliver pixel-perfect, production-ready design assets across desktop and mobile platforms.
Contribute to visual language consistency, including typography, color theory, and composition.
Contribute to art direction refinement and support its evolution across markets.
3. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Manage and mentor UI Designers within the team; coach Product Designers on Design System use.
Collaborate with Lead and Principal Designers to ensure UX-UI harmony across journeys and platforms.
Partner with Engineering to align UI design and development, provide UI specifications, and review front-end output.
Participate in Agile rituals to ensure UI deliverables are aligned with sprint/PI priorities.
Foster a strong feedback culture and design maturity across product teams.
4. Accessibility, Usability & Innovation
Integrate accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2, ADA) into component design and specifications.
Identify usability issues and iterate UI solutions accordingly.
Stay up to date with the latest UI trends, tools, and emerging technologies.
Monitor feedback, adoption, and usage metrics to continuously optimize UI assets and processes.
5. KEY DELIVERABLES
Design System components, tokens, patterns, and variants.
UI specifications for Engineering (layouts, components, interactions).
Visual assets (icons, illustrations, motion design).
Documentation in Zeroheight, Figma libraries, or Storybook.
Component utilization metrics and roadmap tracking.
6. KPIs
Component reuse rate vs new creation.
Instances and adoption of Design System components.
Accessibility compliance across products.
UI quality and consistency across squads and countries.
Designer satisfaction and internal feedback from Product/Tech teams.
YOU ARE A MATCH IF...
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Design (Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Ergonomics, Graphic Design, or related field).
Work Experience:
5+ years in UI, visual, or product design roles, with experience in scaling design systems.
Proven leadership of design teams or design system initiatives within global or matrixed environments.
Languages:
Fluency in English is required. Additional languages such as French, Spanish, Portuguese, or other relevant languages are an advantage.
