The Lead UX Designer creates high-performing customer experiences across web and mobile platforms, translating user needs, business goals, and customer insights into intuitive, accessible, and scalable solutions. This role leads the design of complex customer journeys, contributes to enterprise design systems, and partners cross-functionally to shape product strategy and digital transformation initiatives.

Primary responsibilities

  • Lead design efforts across multiple products, journeys, and initiatives while ensuring a cohesive customer experience.
  • Use AI-enabled design and prototyping tools (e.g., Figma Make, Loveable, Adobe Firefly, Claude Code, or similar) to accelerate ideation, streamline workflows, and create interactive prototypes from early concepts to production-ready experiences while maintaining a human-centered approach to design.
  • Collaborate across teams to align foundational/structural design with overarching strategies (campaign, site, and user experience).
  • Partner with UX content writers, product managers, engineers, and design system teams to translate customer needs into scalable, reusable components and patterns.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and style guides for consistent design and language across projects and products.
  • Design comprehensive, production-ready component libraries in Figma—from foundational atoms to complex organisms—ensuring each component is accessible, flexible, and documented for implementation.
  • Guide and mentor designers through design reviews, critiques, and knowledge sharing.
  • Facilitate cross-team alignment on UX approaches, helping teams navigate ambiguity, competing priorities, and technical constraints.
  • Factor in usability testing results when making design and creative decisions.

Requirements & core competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in UX design, HCI, visual communication, or similar.
  • Five+ years of related experience; in-house or creative agency experience a plus.
  • Portfolio featuring structural design for various customer journeys.
  • Robust understanding of UX fundamentals with a curiosity for emerging technologies.
  • Knowledgeable in digital brand experience and customer-focused thinking.
  • Experience making data-driven design decisions to drive engagement and conversion.
  • Well-versed in accessibility standards, responsive design, and modern design tools with advanced expertise in Figma, including component architecture, library management, and design token systems.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and evolving enterprise-scale design systems, including component governance, documentation, and accessibility standards while balancing consistency, flexibility, and engineering feasibility.

  • Ability to effectively prompt, evaluate, and refine AI-generated design concepts while applying UX best practices and human judgment.
  • Familiarity with designing experiences that incorporate conversational AI, generative AI, personalization, or intelligent-assistance patterns is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable presenting work.
  • Able to challenge the status quo and bring creative solutions that go beyond the brief, support the strategy, and drive the business forward.

  • Familiar with business- and consumer-audience needs.
  • Experience with Workfront (or similar project management systems).
