Position Overview:

At Finning, we help customers maximize the performance, reliability, and value of their equipment fleets. We are seeking a Permanent, Full-Time Fleet Data & Reporting Specialist to act as a key liaison between customers, Reliability Engineers (REs), Site Performance Managers (SPMs), and internal IT and data teams. In this role, you will ensure customer fleet data is accurately collected, standardized, governed, and transformed into actionable reporting and analytics that drive business decisions.

This is an exciting opportunity for a data-driven professional who enjoys working directly with customers, solving data challenges, and leveraging technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve fleet performance insights for some of Finning's largest customers.

Job Description:

What You'll Do

Data Management & Customer Engagement

• Work directly with customers and site teams to collect operational, maintenance, and fleet performance data.
• Develop and maintain standardized data requirements, structures, reporting formats, and governance processes across customers and regions.
• Establish and support a single source of truth for customer operational and maintenance data.
• Collaborate with customers, REs, SPMs, and IT stakeholders to address data access, integrity, and quality issues.
• Identify opportunities to improve data reliability, consistency, and usability across the organization.

Reporting & Analytics

• Create, maintain, and enhance recurring reports and dashboards for Reliability Engineers, Site Performance Managers, Regional Managers, and Executive Leadership.
• Translate business questions and operational challenges into meaningful data insights and reporting solutions.
• Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, performance opportunities, and actionable recommendations.
• Support decision-making by providing accurate, timely, and reliable reporting.

Process Improvement & Automation

• Reduce manual reporting and improve operational efficiency through automation, scripting, and AI-enabled technologies.
• Design, document, and maintain repeatable workflows for customer data acquisition, validation, processing, storage, and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance scalability, accessibility, and consistency of fleet data management processes.
• Promote best practices in data governance, reporting standards, and process documentation.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

• Experience working with operational, maintenance, reliability, asset management, or fleet-related data.
• Strong understanding of maintenance and reliability metrics, KPIs, and performance reporting.
• Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively with large and complex datasets.
• Experience developing reports, dashboards, and executive-level presentations.
• Strong ability to collaborate with customers and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into practical data management and reporting solutions.

Technical Skills

• Data management, governance, analytics, and reporting.
• Experience with Power BI, SQL, Excel, Python, or similar analytical tools.
• Process automation and AI-enabled workflow solutions.
• Data validation, cleansing, and quality management.
• Ability to work effectively with incomplete, inconsistent, or complex datasets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within mining, heavy equipment, construction, industrial services, or other asset-intensive industries.
• Knowledge of fleet performance metrics, reliability engineering principles, maintenance planning, and equipment lifecycle management.
• Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment, fleet management systems, telematics platforms, or operational technology solutions.
• Experience leveraging automation, data integration, or artificial intelligence tools to improve reporting efficiency and business outcomes.
