Assistant Director of Food & Nutrition Services

Apple Valley Village Health Care Center, a Cassia community, is hiring an Assistant Director of Food & Nutrition Services to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about food. In this role, you will assist the Food & Nutrition Services Director with leading the overall operations of the department. You will also ensure our residents receive a first-class dining experience through supervising and staffing exceptional dietary aides and cooks.  The ideal candidate brings prior food service leadership experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and a passion for serving older adults while building an engaged, high-performing team.
 

Position Type: Full-Time, benefits eligible position working a varied schedule including rotating weekends

Shift Available:
Days 11:00 AM - 7:30 PM (Times can vary)

Wage Range: $21.63 – $29.07 / hour depending on experience

Assistant Director of Food & Nutrition Services Responsibilities:

• Ensure appropriate nutritional care is provided to all residents.
• Coordinate with home office dietitians to plan meals at the facility.
• Oversee daily operations of the Culinary Services department.
• Guarantee meals, snacks, and supplements are planned, prepared, and served to residents in a pleasant atmosphere.
• Recruit, hire, and supervise department staff.
• Prepare employee schedules, maintain attendance records, and approve payroll.
• Promote special food events (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, etc.) for residents and guests.
• Perform additional tasks as required.

• ServSafe certificate required or obtained upon hire.
• Knowledge of local, state and federal food service regulations, preferred.
• Large scale batch cooking experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
