OVERVIEW:

The Manager, Trade Compliance is responsible for the day-to-day management and continuous improvement of the DICK’S Sporting Goods Trade Compliance program. This position oversees customs brokerage operations, Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) compliance, process and policy development, trade compliance team development and managing the alignment processes and integration of Foot Locker and the Dick’s Sporting Goods trade programs. The role serves as a key business partner across Supply Chain, Sourcing, Merchandising, Finance, Legal and external service providers to ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and international trade laws while identifying opportunities for operational efficiency, cost savings and risk reduction.

This position drives strategic initiatives that strengthen the Company's trade compliance framework, enhance regulatory compliance and support business growth.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Program Management & Compliance Operations:

• Manage the Company's trade compliance operations, including customs brokerage, FTZ administration, customs valuation and regulatory compliance activities
• Ensure compliance with CBP regulations, FTZ requirements and applicable international trade laws
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen compliance controls, reduce risk exposure and improve operational efficiency
• Evaluate business impacts of dynamic tariff environment and provide recommendations for reducing exposure
• Identify and implement savings opportunities through duty reduction strategies and process enhancements
• Obtain and maintain adequate customs bonds to support direct import and FTZ operations
• Supervise FTZ compliance and administration activities for Company FTZ operations
• Monitor compliance performance metrics and develop reporting for senior leadership
• Communicate compliance risks, audit findings and remediation plans to management
• Serve as a subject matter expert on trade compliance implications for sourcing decisions, new product launches and special business initiatives

Develop Process and Policies to Reduce Risk and Enable Scalable Growth:

• Develop, document, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies and compliance workflows
• Evaluate new business projects and opportunities and develop business assimilation plans to incorporate them into workflows
• Evaluate existing processes and implement enhancements that improve compliance, efficiency and accountability
• Lead cross-functional process improvement initiatives related to import compliance and customs operations
• Ensure compliance requirements are effectively embedded within business processes and systems

Vendor and Service Provider Management:

• Manage relationships with customs brokers, consultants, SaaS providers and technology service providers
• Establish performance expectations, monitor service levels and ensure adherence to contractual obligations and SLAs
• Conduct regular business reviews and performance evaluations with service providers
• Partner with Sourcing to execute RFI and RFQ processes for compliance-related services
• Negotiate service rates, scopes of work and operational requirements
• Collaborate with Legal to review service agreements and resolve contractual issues
• Escalate and resolve systemic, procedural and compliance-related concerns with providers as needed

Lead and Develop Teammates:

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Trade Compliance Analysts
• Establish clear roles, responsibilities, performance expectations and accountability measures
• Provide regular guidance, coaching and workload prioritization
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration and professional development
• Conduct performance reviews and create development plans to strengthen team capabilities
• Ensure internal associates and external service providers receive appropriate training on Company trade compliance requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree

• 5 - 7 years of Progressive experience in customs compliance, international trade, brokerage operations or FTZ administration with team leadership responsibilities

• Licensed Customs Broker preferred

• Retail, consumer products or large-scale import operations experience

• Strong working knowledge of CBP regulations, customs valuation, FTZ regulations, duty savings programs and import/export compliance requirements

• Knowledge of customs valuation methodologies

• Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong facilitation & presentation skills

• Supervisory and leadership capabilities

• Problem solving & troubleshooting skills

• Project management skills

• High interpersonal skills, including ability to interact with senior leadership and teammates at all levels

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
