Senior Manager, Business Development Representative - Maternity Cover

Position Overview 

We are hiring a high-energy Senior Sales Manager to provide fixed-term maternity cover for our Business Development Representative organisation. This is a 6-7 month fixed-term opportunity, with the possibility to explore other long-term opportunities within Autodesk subject to business needs, role availability and performance. 

The successful candidate will bring sound business acumen, natural sales instincts and strong technical aptitude to lead an office-based sales team of Business Development Representatives. The role requires a hands-on people leader who can maintain team momentum, drive operational discipline and support consistent performance during the maternity cover period. 

This leader will work closely with Marketing, Sales Operations, channel partners and sales stakeholders to ensure lead quality, strong pipeline creation, accurate reporting and continued development of BDR talent into sales-ready professionals. 

Your Impact 

• Achieve and exceed monthly quotas of qualified opportunities and handoffs to Regional Sales 

• Motivate individuals and the team to exceed their sales objectives through deal coaching, sales skills training, product skills training and regular communication of results. 

• Maintain a strong operating cadence across the BDR team during the fixed-term cover period, ensuring clarity of priorities, accountability and consistent execution. 

• Work closely with Marketing to build campaigns that ensure lead quality and quantity, supported by proper closed-loop metric reporting. 

• Develop and leverage relationships with channel partners to improve territory performance and exceed customers’ expectations. 

• Regularly report on team and individual results, including pipeline and conversion rates 

• Work closely with internal Sales Operations stakeholders on reporting and analysis, identifying and recommending improvements in sales productivity. 

• Continuously develop BDRs into sales-ready professionals for the next step in their careers. 

Minimum Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 

• 3+ years of proven experience successfully managing people to achieve performance goals within an inbound and outbound office-based sales team. 

• 5+ years of experience in sales, preferably in enterprise applications, with a proven track record of over-achievement against quota expectations. 

• Strong ability to coach, motivate and develop sales talent in a high-velocity environment. 

• Outstanding communication, organisational and time management skills. 

• Strong metrics and analytical orientation, with the ability to translate reporting into practical actions that improve sales productivity. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment. 

• Fluency in English. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Prior inside sales experience, with a strong desire to be in technology sales. 

• Experience leading or supporting Business Development Representative, Sales Development, Inside Sales or early-career sales teams. 

• Experience working closely with Marketing, Sales Operations and channel partner teams. 

• Fluency in at least one additional European language is a plus, particularly French, German or Spanish. 

• Drive to continually improve sales skills through on-the-job coaching, self-learning and the Autodesk sales career progression framework.
