Job Overview:
The Financial Analyst supports Cambium Assessment’s (CAI) growth and operational excellence by driving project-level financial planning, analysis, and revenue assurance across the organization. Serving as an essential liaison between Finance, Project Management, and Senior Leadership, this role oversees project forecasting, budget creation, budget vs. actuals performance, and contractual billing integrity.
Through regular project reviews, out-of-scope pricing coordination, and proactive risk escalation, the Financial Analyst ensures financial accuracy and identifies potential contract issues. By delivering actionable insights, maintaining rigorous data standards, and partnering closely with project teams, this role enables informed leadership decision-making, protects project margins, and supports CAI’s long-term business success.
Job Responsibilities:
Performs financial analysis, reviews budget vs. actuals reports, and revises project forecasts
Performs monthly project reviews with project management to ensure consistent and accurate project data, identification of potential contract issues, additional contract scope, etc.
Performs monthly project reviews with senior management to provide current financial overview and escalate any potential issues requiring senior management involvement identified during project management monthly review
Works with project management to price services out of contract scope and coordinates review and approval with senior management
Works with project management to review and ensure accurate monthly client billings according to contract terms
Supports departmental cost accounting
Reviews collection issues and escalates issues as necessary
Assists in creation of project budgets
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
2+ years of experience in corporate or project finance
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Thorough understanding of methods of systems analysis and the principles, design, and procedural methods used in big data analysis.
Thorough understanding of project management.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Experience with Percent Complete accounting a plus
