Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Group Leader, this position is responsible for the assembly, inspection, and packaging of components and finished products. Responsibilities include performing the line clearance process, completing hourly production reports, and maintaining an organized and clean work area. All activities must be performed with a focus on ensuring the quality of the products manufactured for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Be at the assigned workstation five minutes before the start of the shift.
- Perform visual inspections in accordance with established defect standards.
- Ensure that all required process forms are completed accurately.
- Comply with all safety rules and regulations.
- Complete the Line Clearance Report at every model changeover.
- Follow the instructions provided in the Standard Work (SW) documents.
- Complete the Hour-by-Hour Production Report.
- Properly identify and complete scrap labels.
- Ensure completion of safety checklists.
- Maintain 5S standards in the work area.
- Ensure production reports are completed accurately.
- Participate in environmental training sessions when required.
- Perform assigned tasks and responsibilities in accordance with established controls for environmental protection and employee safety and well-being.
- Participate in the Four Disciplines of Execution (4DX).
- Participate in PPI (Practical Process Improvement) activities.
Authority
Request that the machine be stopped in the event of:
- A safety risk.
- A high level of scrap.
- Quality defects.
- Intermittent issues or poor machine performance.
Additional authority/responsibilities include:
- Complete required reports, including Line Clearance and Hour-by-Hour Production Reports.
- Identify and report any non-compliance with the facility dress code.
- Report activities that may have an environmental impact, when applicable.
- Submit proposals for improvements to the Environmental Management System.
Position Requirements
Education
- High school diploma preferred.
Experience
- Previous experience in manufacturing facilities preferred.
- Plastic injection molding experience preferred/desirable.
Knowledge
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read and complete reports.
- Knowledge of quality standards and defect inspection.
