Senior Technician, Quality Control, Fermentation Lab (Kingstree, SC)

Kingstree, SC (USA) Onsite | 12-hour Rotating Shifts

As a Senior Technician, Quality Control, Fermentation Lab, you will support fermentation operations through culture preparation, analytical testing, process monitoring, and quality control activities that help ensure safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing. Working closely with production, engineering, and quality teams, you will monitor critical process parameters, maintain laboratory standards, and provide technical support that drives product quality and operational performance throughout our Kingstree facility.

Your Key Responsibilities:

• Perform analytical, microbiological, and fermentation-related testing to support product quality, process performance, and manufacturing operations.
• Monitor critical fermentation parameters, collect and analyze samples, and communicate results to support production efficiency and product quality.
• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory and fermentation support equipment while ensuring compliance with established procedures and quality standards.
• Provide technical support for laboratory and production teams by assisting in the investigation and resolution of quality, process, and equipment-related issues.
• Support laboratory continuous improvement initiatives, method enhancements, and operational excellence programs that improve safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Promote a strong safety and quality culture through adherence to SHE requirements, cGMP standards, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and stop-work authority when necessary.

You Bring:

• High School Diploma or GED required; additional education in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or a related technical field is a plus.
• Ability to perform laboratory testing, sample preparation, and analytical procedures with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience documenting, recording, and communicating results in accordance with cGMP requirements and Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Competence using laboratory equipment, including but not limited to spectroscopy, microscopes, pH meters, analytical balances, and centrifuges.
• Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), identify deviations, and maintain compliance with established quality standards.
• Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

The salary or hourly wage scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. Hourly $25.00-$30.00.
