As a Senior OSS Engineer, you will design, engineer and run our capabilities for the Operational Support Systems (OSS) and Tools stack for network and perimeter products and platforms that enable highly distributed global business for site, fleet, asset and IoT connectivity, required to deliver against our strategy. The Brief
A globally focused shipping and transportation organisation is continuing to drive an ambitious and complex change and transformational programme to deliver a service of excellence for its customers and clients worldwide. The Global CTIO has a mandate from the Maersk board to lead the Technology transformation of Maersk which will enable the Maersk business strategy to become the global integrator of container logistics through digitising the Maersk business processes and customer engagement.
The Technology Function is fundamental to enable the company’s transformation and in response to this demand, our in-house technological capability is growing exponentially. The Network OSS Engineering function is essential to our transformation, it is a central team within Network Architecture & Engineering, responsible for the delivery of product roadmaps, technical vision and quality across Fulfilment and Assurance that underpin our network and perimeter capabilities and products.
Reporting to the Senior OSS Engineering Manager you will serve as a Senior OSS Engineer, ensuring that our systems and tools for the network OSS realise business value. Your role is responsible for technical design and delivery of solutions across the network OSS applications landscape from monitoring to analytics driven AIOps. All built to industry leading standards and running seamlessly across various cloud and on-prem platforms, allowing frictionless and seamless operations of our network and perimeter platforms.
It has a critical role to play as we continue to develop our long-term multi-technology and multi-product network and perimeter capabilities, connecting our asset, sites and people on land and at sea. Delivering best in class software and tooling that not only meet the need of our business today but will be a differentiator, enabling our colleagues and partners with technology solutions that are a catalyst for productivity and innovation.
Scope
All data networks provided to Maersk across Core, Edge and Cloud locations (offices, warehouses, terminals, vessels, data centres, cloud etc), and the perimeter services that protect and enable them including but not limited to:
- Wireless Transport: Satellite | 4G/LTE | 5G
- IoT Networking Solutions: Industrial Wi-Fi
- WAN: Internet | IP/MPLS | Next-Gen/SD WAN
- LAN: DC Networking | SDN | Fixed & Wireless
- Perimeter: Load balancers | NG Firewalls | Security Service Edge
Specific Job Requirements
The role holder shall possess a solid understanding of DevOps tooling, GitOps, CI/CD, config management, Jenkins, build pipelines and source control systems and have a working knowledge of cloud infrastructure services: compute, storage, networking, hybrid connectivity, monitoring/logging, security and IAM.
Collaborate with stakeholders and Business Analysts to gather, document and understand requirements. Articulate functional and non-functional requirements to business and technical stakeholders.
Product mindset and passion about building for internal stakeholders and external customers.
Work with product owners to prioritize features for ongoing sprints and implement features based on service line demand, industry trends, known defects, and issues.

- Be a world class expert in the OSS domain, implementing the defined architectural roadmap for Network tooling for the Maersk Group.
- Support delivery and program management with estimations and planning.
- Validate all the Non-Functional requirements and provide inputs to the applications team on capacity exercise.
- Practice TDD and follow best practices.
- Produce high-quality, clean and performant code.
- Implement and publish APIs for ecosystem clients to consume platform services in a consistent way.
- Adopt a product mindset and passion about building for internal and external ecosystem.
What I'll be doing – your accountabilities?
Software Engineering – Build and integrate applications in the OSS ecosystem. Engineering of the software tools to drive Fulfilment and Assurance OSS capability to underpin all networking and perimeter services across Core, Edge and Cloud. To be considered for this opportunity the candidate needs to have following technical qualifications:
- Expertise in building/troubleshooting and debugging containerized applications using Kubernetes using microservices concepts like observability and scalability.
- Excellent experience and knowledge of Java 17+. Well versed with Spring boot.
- TDD with Unit Testing (such as Junit or Mockito) and Integration Testing.
- Strong experience with Python, API development and testing tools such as Postman, and automation scripting, with the ability to develop production-ready services, integrations and proofs of concept for observability, AIOps and agentic AI use cases.
- Hands-on experience with microservices, container and cloud technologies, ingress controllers, API gateways, PromQL and LogQL.
- SRE Exposure an advantage. Experience defining service KPIs, SLIs and SLOs using open-source observability tooling such as Prometheus, Mimir, Grafana, Loki and ELK, together with instrumentation, telemetry and log analytics.
- Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL, Streaming (Kafka) and large-scale batch processing
- Experience with frontend technologies like react/angular etc. is desirable
- Solid experience in DevOps tooling, GitOps, CI/CD, config management, build pipelines and source control systems
- Strong experience designing and implementing REST APIs and integrating platforms through webhooks and event-driven interfaces.
- Experience monitoring application performance, resolving production issues and operating services using SRE practices.
- Comfortable working in agile methodologies (ideally Scrum)
