The Senior Director serves as a trusted advisor to CFOs, finance executives, operational leaders, and enterprise analytics teams. The role combines healthcare financial expertise, strategic advisory, performance improvement, decision support, digital transformation, and client relationship leadership to deliver measurable value.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Client Leadership & Advisory
• Serve as an executive advisor to healthcare CFOs, finance leaders, strategy executives, and operational stakeholders.
• Lead assessments of finance, decision support, analytics, reporting, profitability, and performance management capabilities.
• Develop enterprise performance-improvement roadmaps aligned with organizational strategy, financial goals, and measurable value.
• Facilitate executive workshops and present findings, recommendations, and business cases to senior leadership and boards.
Financial Performance Transformation
• Lead initiatives focused on margin improvement, cost reduction, service-line profitability, labor productivity, expense management, planning, forecasting, budgeting, and strategic investment analysis.
• Design performance-management frameworks, management reporting, KPI definitions, and governance models.
• Help clients improve financial visibility and establish disciplined processes that sustain results.
Decision Support & Analytics
• Advise clients on enterprise decision support strategies, operating models, and capability roadmaps.
• Design executive dashboards and management reporting that connect financial, operational, and strategic measures.
• Lead profitability analytics across service lines, physicians, patients, and payers.
• Establish data governance, reporting standards, metric definitions, and performance-measurement processes.
• Partner with data and technology teams to modernize analytics, EPM, ERP, and cloud-enabled data solutions.
• Translate complex analysis into clear executive insights and actionable business recommendations.
LEADERSHIP EXPECTATIONS
Program & Engagement Leadership
• Direct multiple complex consulting engagements and enterprise transformation programs.
• Manage engagement scope, economics, staffing, quality, risk, executive communications, and client satisfaction.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams spanning finance, analytics, technology, implementation, and performance improvement.
• Create clear accountability for outcomes and ensure delivery excellence from assessment through implementation and adoption.
Business Development & Market Leadership
• Build and maintain executive-level relationships with current and prospective clients.
• Identify client needs and shape differentiated solutions that integrate advisory, data, technology, and implementation capabilities.
• Lead proposal development, executive presentations, solution design, and strategic pursuits.
• Contribute to thought leadership, offering development, alliances, and market-facing activities.
• Support account growth, cross-practice collaboration, and achievement of practice revenue goals.
People & Practice Leadership
• Recruit, mentor, coach, and develop consulting managers, directors, and engagement teams.
• Build high-performing teams grounded in collaboration, accountability, inclusion, and client service excellence.
• Advance reusable methods, tools, intellectual capital, and delivery standards across the practice.
• Demonstrate Huron leadership behaviors and actively support the professional growth of colleagues.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Experience
• 12+ years of consulting, healthcare finance, decision support, analytics, or performance-improvement experience.
• 5+ years leading large-scale healthcare transformation initiatives, complex engagements, or equivalent enterprise programs.
• Demonstrated success advising C-suite executives and senior finance, operational, and analytics leaders.
• Deep understanding of healthcare provider finance, operations, decision support, and performance management.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage engagement economics, and develop client relationships.
• Ability to travel based on client and business needs.
Preferred Expertise
• Healthcare decision support, cost accounting, service-line profitability, and patient-level analytics.
• Financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and enterprise performance management.
• Labor productivity, operational performance improvement, expense management, and margin transformation.
• Healthcare analytics, data strategy, data governance, and reporting modernization.
• ERP, EPM, decision support, and cloud data platform transformations.
• Revenue cycle, payer, physician, clinical, or supply-chain analytics.
Education & Credentials
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, healthcare administration, analytics, or a related field required.
• MBA, MHA, MPH, CPA, or another relevant advanced degree or professional credential preferred.
Travel & Home Location
• Travel requirements vary by project, and candidates must be willing to travel weekly as needed up to 80% (Monday - Thursday)
• Candidates may live anywhere in the contiguous 48 states near a major airport

The estimated base salary for this job is $250,000 - $325,000. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes, and required travel. This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy. Inclusive of annual incentive compensation opportunity, the total estimated compensation range for this job is $325,000 - $422,500. The job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs.
