Description
DevOps Engineer
Location: London
Working Pattern: Hybrid
About the role
We are working with an established and growing organisation that is investing heavily in its technology, cloud infrastructure and digital capabilities.
As part of this continued investment, they are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join an existing technical team and take ownership of Azure-based CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes deployments and cloud infrastructure automation.
This is a hands-on technical position suited to someone who enjoys improving the way software is built, tested and deployed. You will work closely with development, infrastructure and cloud teams, helping to improve automation, reliability, security and overall engineering efficiency.
What you will be doing
-
Design, build and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines across multiple environments.
-
Automate build, testing and deployment processes to reduce manual intervention and improve release efficiency.
-
Support and manage Kubernetes environments, ideally Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), for containerised applications.
-
Work closely with software development teams to implement CI/CD best practice and modern deployment strategies.
-
Drive the adoption of Docker, containerisation and Infrastructure as Code.
-
Identify, assess and remediate vulnerabilities across application code, CI/CD pipelines and Azure infrastructure.
-
Integrate security tooling into development and deployment pipelines, including SAST, DAST and dependency scanning.
-
Manage patching and updates across container images, Kubernetes components and Azure resources.
-
Contribute to cloud platform governance, security standards and continuous improvement.
-
Help maintain secure, reliable and scalable cloud environments aligned with recognised security and compliance standards.
What we are looking for
-
Strong commercial experience with Azure DevOps, including Pipelines, Repos and Releases.
-
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, ideally AKS, and Docker.
-
Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines within production environments.
-
Good working knowledge of Azure services such as App Services, Functions and Storage.
-
Strong scripting skills using PowerShell, Bash or a similar scripting language.
-
Experience with vulnerability management, patching and secure DevOps practices.
-
Understanding of security scanning and code quality tooling.
-
Experience with tools such as Snyk, Dependabot, Trivy, SonarQube, Azure Monitor or Application Insights would be beneficial.
-
A strong interest in automation, continuous improvement and building secure, reliable platforms.
-
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with software development, infrastructure and cloud teams.
What is on offer
-
Competitive salary based on experience.
-
Hybrid working with flexibility around home working.
-
Generous annual leave allowance.
-
Enhanced family leave provisions.
-
Access to a wide range of employee discounts and benefits.
-
Employee wellbeing support.
-
Employee referral rewards.
-
A collaborative working environment with a strong focus on work-life balance.
-
Long-service and employee recognition schemes.
Why consider the role?
This is an opportunity to join a business going through continued technology investment, where you will have genuine ownership of the DevOps environment rather than simply maintaining existing processes.
You will have the opportunity to work across Azure, Kubernetes, CI/CD, automation and security while helping shape and improve the organisation's wider engineering practices.
