Location of the job: Raeford, NC
Shift Assignment:
12 hr (PM) 6:30 pm – 7:00 am
Shift Pattern – 2/2/3 works a rotating schedule of 2 days on 3 days off, 3 days on 2 days off
Pay Rate – $27.38 | Weekly pay period

Background & Purpose of the Job

As a Facilities Maintenance Technician oversee site including plumbing repairs, piping and pump rebuilding and replacement, light fabrication, general construction, and other site upkeep during the overnight 12-hour shift.
Who You Are & What You’ll Do
Demonstrated knowledge in at least five (5) the following areas, with a working understanding of all areas:
- Plumbing: Ability to diagnose and correct common plumbing issues, such as snaking clogged drains, replacing commercial high-pressure toilets, automated faucets, etc.
- Chilled Water & HVAC: Knowledge of industrial centrifugal chillers, chilled water systems, industrial air handlers, cooling towers; common HVAC troubleshooting skills such as condensate line repair, belt replacement, etc.
- Fabrication and Welding: Certification in welding, milling, lathes, and grinders. Stainless steel and pipe welding are highly desired.
- Pneumatics: Ability to troubleshoot and maintain industrial air compressors, diagnose and repair air leaks, replace pressurized air piping, and a strong knowledge of actuators, pneumatic valves, and cylinders. Ability to interpret a P&ID.
- Heat Transference Equipment: Troubleshoot heat exchangers and understand principles of heat transference to determine safe, optimal points for tank heating operations.
- Boiler and Steam System: Knowledge of industrial natural gas boilers, deaerator and surge tanks, steam traps, and an understanding of the associated safety risks. Routine maintenance of boilers including blowdowns are required daily.
- Vacuum Systems: Knowledge of plant powder delivery vacuum system and proven ability to diagnose and repair loss of vacuum pressure.
- Waste Water Treatment Plant Operations: Working knowledge of waste water treatment plant operations, including EQ, Daf, Sludge, ALAR, and how the Raeford facility impacts water quality. Safety immunizations desired; will be provided.
- Pump Rebuilding: Ability to clean and repair positive displacement, centrifugal, and other large industrial pumps using rebuild kits.
- General Construction: Knowledge of common construction tactics to ensure structurally-sound workmanship, including types of bracing, material selection, etc.
- Fire System: Experience with maintaining industrial fire suppression systems.
- Compounding/Batching Operations: Understanding of powder delivery system, tank heating operations, and compounding materials.
- Assisting in troubleshooting mechanical deficiencies throughout the site, including dock doors, the fire suppression system, and compounding. Other miscellaneous tasks as assigned to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Raeford campus
- Participate and actively drive ideas for safety and reliability improvements in the Raeford facility
- Partner with key industrial contractors and maintenance planners to ensure timely work completion
- Assist in critical facilities maintenance repairs to support the operational efficiency of the Raeford facility
- Organize needed parts and staffing for critical maintenance projects. As some projects can only be performed while the building is shut down, weekend work and occasional Holiday work is required; candidate must have schedule flexibility
- Assist in performing and documenting maintenance PM and TBM initiatives.
- Responsible for following GXP. This includes but is not limited to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Labor Practice (GLP) and Good Documentation Practice (GDP)
What You’ll Need To Succeed
- High Scholl Diploma or GED equivalent
- Formal technical training certification/degree are strongly preferred (i.e. Associate’s Degree in Industrial Maintenance).
- Former experience in processing/compounding or as a plant mechanic is desired.
- Electrical qualification (up to 600V, NFPA 70E Certification) is preferred.
