Role summary:
The (USA) Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services-DOT, is responsible for managing exterior facility operations while ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards. This role involves coordinating maintenance activities, operating heavy machinery, and overseeing seasonal services such as snow and ice management. The technician supports cost control through procurement and warranty processes, leads third-party providers, and maintains equipment and vehicles in safe working condition. About the team:
The Exterior Services team is dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the outdoor environments of Walmart and Sam’s Club properties. This team ensures safe, clean, and well-maintained landscapes by performing seasonal maintenance, operating specialized equipment, and managing snow and ice removal. They collaborate closely with management and third-party providers to uphold quality and safety standards while supporting operational efficiency. The team fosters professional growth through coaching and development, prioritizes compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and consistently delivers exceptional service to support the overall facility experience for associates and customers.
What you'll do:

• Operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment following safety protocols and certification requirements.
• Perform seasonal exterior maintenance including snow and ice management to ensure safe facility conditions.
• Conduct quality assurance inspections and troubleshoot facility issues to meet operational standards.
• Manage vehicle maintenance, safety checks, and documentation to ensure readiness and compliance.
• Coordinate purchases of parts, tools, and equipment while controlling costs and submitting warranty claims.
• Lead and develop third-party providers and associates through coaching and performance evaluations.
• Implement upgrades and improvements to enhance facility sustainability and reduce operating expenses.

What you'll bring:

• Proven ability to operate and maintain heavy machinery and powered equipment safely and efficiently.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Experience in managing facility exterior services, including seasonal maintenance such as snow and ice removal.
• Competence in troubleshooting, quality assurance inspections, and resolving customer issues effectively.
• Ability to prepare and manage budgets, including cost estimates and purchase approvals.
• Skilled in coordinating third-party providers and leading teams to achieve operational goals.
• Commitment to upholding company policies, ethics, and integrity in all work activities.

The hourly wage range for this position is $19.00 - $35.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position. If none are listed, there are no minimum qualifications.

21 years of age or older.

Valid state-issued driver’s license.

No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.

No more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.

No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor
vehicle.

No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last three (3) years, if operating a commercial motor
vehicle.

Successful completion of a DOT physical and medical certification pre- hire.

As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.

2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry

Able to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and be able to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card, Associate’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Maintenance, Construction Management, or related area., Experience in third-party management., Experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (for example, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)., Proficient in speaking and understanding Spanish., State/local licensing where required (for example, Florida, Texas, California, etc).
