The Inside Sales Leader reports to the Sr. Sales Director and drives new business growth, retention, and profitability across an assigned portfolio of independent agency relationships in Personal, Farm, and Commercial Lines. Working virtually rather than in the field, this role executes sales strategies, conducts agency performance diagnostics, and partners remotely with agency owners, producers, and staff to grow production. The Inside Sales Leader serves as the primary point of contact for agency sales needs within their assigned territory and represents Mutual Of Enumclaw's value proposition to the independent agency force.
Location: The successful candidate will be located in one of the following states: WA, OR, ID, MT, or UT. Candidate must be able to work our core Pacific Time business hours and have high-speed internet (internet speed test required)
Hiring Range: $97,900 - $116,000
Salary Range: $97,900 - $142,100

Responsibilities
- Develops and executes sales strategies to grow and retain a defined portfolio of independent agency relationships across Personal, Farm, and Commercial Lines.
- Owns an assigned virtual territory, building annual plans against new business, retention, and profitability targets.
- Conducts agency diagnostics and performance reviews to identify growth opportunities and consults with agency principals on business plans.
- Prospects, onboards, and sets performance expectations for new agency appointments, including training on products, rating, and automation tools.
- Designs and delivers structured onboarding and training curricula for newly appointed agencies, covering products, underwriting appetite, rating platforms, and automation tools.
- Serves as the primary training resource for new agency staff through their first 90 days, tracking progress against defined production and competency milestones.
- Partners with Learning & Development and Product teams to build and maintain agency-facing training materials, job aids, and best-practice playbooks.
- Leads regular check-ins and refresher training sessions with newly appointed or underperforming agencies to reinforce product knowledge and sales technique.
- Tracks new agent training completion and early production ramp, escalating gaps to Distribution Strategy leadership.
- Cross-sells across Personal, Farm, and Commercial Lines and identifies rounding or book transfer opportunities within existing agency relationships.
- Builds and maintains relationships with agency staff at every level, including owners, producers, and CSRs, to drive engagement and loyalty.
- Monitors agency performance against production commitments and proactively addresses underperformance.
- Partners with Underwriting, Marketing, and Product teams to align sales initiatives with business objectives.
- Maintains current knowledge of competitor products, rate filings, and distribution strategy, and shares findings with leadership.
- Utilizes CRM, comparative rating, and analytics tools to support data-driven sales decisions and performance measurement.
- Represents Mutual of Enumclaw's brand and value proposition to agency partners in all interactions.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong virtual/phone sales presence.
- Strong relationship-building, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Strong training and facilitation skills, with the ability to teach new agents product knowledge, rating platforms, and sales technique effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to guide sales decisions.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple agency relationships at once.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and sales targets.
- Working knowledge of independent agency distribution, including agency management systems, comparative raters, and quoting tools.
- Ability to work independently in a virtual, high-paced sales environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, insurance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Two or more years of insurance sales experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, including video conferencing.
- Minimal travel; occasional attendance at agency or company events.
