Position: HR Assistant
Location: Cary, Illinois

We are seeking an HR Associate to join our Human Resources team. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people while also contributing to workplace safety, compliance, and responsible business practices. You'll support recruiting efforts across the organization while assisting with recruiting, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) and Social Responsibility initiatives.
About the Role and Your Impact
Recruiting & Human Resources
- Support the full recruitment process, including posting positions, reviewing resumes, coordinating interviews, and communicating with candidates
- Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and position requirements
- Conduct initial candidate interviews and assist with evaluating qualifications and overall fit
- Maintain accurate candidate and recruiting records within the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
- Coordinate pre-employment activities and help ensure a smooth candidate experience
- Assist with career fairs, campus recruiting, community outreach, and other talent acquisition initiatives
- Support additional HR projects and initiatives as needed
EHS & Social Responsibility
- Support Environmental Health & Safety compliance activities, including inspections, audits, documentation, and incident investigations
- Maintain EHS records and documentation to ensure information remains accurate, current, and accessible
- Assist with the development, coordination, and administration of employee safety and EHS training
- Work with internal stakeholders to promote a strong culture of workplace safety and environmental responsibility
- Assist with monitoring regulatory requirements and maintaining related policies, procedures, and documentation
- Participate in EHS committee meetings and support workplace safety improvement initiatives
- Assist with Social Responsibility and corporate compliance initiatives as needed
- Support documentation, data collection, and internal or external requests related to responsible business practices
- Collaborate across departments on environmental, social responsibility, and compliance-related projects
Who We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- Previous HR, recruiting, administrative, EHS, or related experience is a plus
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally with candidates, employees, managers, and external partners
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and follow projects through to completion
- Sound judgment and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Comfortable working across multiple areas of HR and taking on new responsibilities as business needs evolve
Preferred Skills
- Experience with recruiting or applicant tracking systems
- Familiarity with employment and recruiting practices
- Exposure to EHS regulations, workplace safety, or environmental compliance
- Experience supporting audits, compliance documentation, or employee training
- Familiarity with Social Responsibility, sustainability, or corporate compliance initiatives
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
