The Meter Systems team develops products that power SEL's industry-leading metering solutions. In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders to coordinate development activities, maintain healthy and actionable backlogs, and provide transparent communication across concurrent initiatives. This role is intended for an individual who is well-versed in Scrum, Agile workflows, and software and firmware development practices. Your work will help ensure priorities are clear, dependencies are managed proactively, and engineering teams can focus on delivering high-quality products that meet customer and business needs.

A typical day as a Project Manager might include:

  • Own and maintain Jira backlogs for Firmware and Software teams, ensuring epics, features, stories, tasks, and bugs are accurately defined, prioritized, linked, and ready for development.
  • Partner with engineering managers, technical leads, and product stakeholders to understand project objectives and identify all firmware and software work required to achieve delivery goals.
  • Break down projects into actionable work items and coordinate with technical leads to ensure work is appropriately scoped, estimated, and assigned to upcoming sprints.
  • Facilitate backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release planning activities to ensure teams maintain a healthy pipeline of prioritized and ready work.
  • Monitor project progress across multiple concurrent initiatives, tracking completion of key milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and technical commitments.
  • Proactively identify schedule risks, blocked work, and gaps in project execution, escalating issues and driving resolution with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain Jira dashboards, reports, metrics, and planning artifacts that provide clear visibility into project status, sprint progress, backlog health, release readiness, and team capacity.
  • Drive continuous improvement of backlog management, sprint planning, estimation, and cross-functional coordination processes to improve predictability and execution efficiency.
  • Prepare and communicate project status updates, dependency summaries, risk assessments, and delivery forecasts to engineering leadership and project stakeholders.
  • Follow SEL Values, Principles of Operations, and World-Class Manufacturing principles.
  • Understand. Create. Simplify.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This job might be for you if:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Typically 2+ years of related experience in a professional setting
  • Excellent coordination, organization, and prioritizing skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Ability to learn technical concepts
  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills
  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Background check results satisfactory to SEL
  • Negative drug test result(s)

It is a plus if you have:

  • Experience with Jira and Confluence
  • Scrum Master, Agile, or SAFe certification
  • Experience supporting software and/or firmware development teams
