Technology and International Affairs Program
The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a renowned international affairs institution, seeks a Program Manager for its Washington, D.C.-based Technology and International Affairs (TIA) Program. TIA is a collection of experts who study and shape global policy on technology-especially AI, the information environment, cybersecurity, and biotech-with the goal of strengthening national and international security, political economy, and democracy.
The Program Manager will work directly with the Program Co-Directors to manage the administrative, development, and financial functions of the program, while collaborating closely with other parts of Carnegie, including finance, development, and communications departments. Responsibilities will include budgeting and financial oversight; program management; grant writing and grant management; coordinating within TIA and across other programs and departments; drafting and reviewing communications to funders and other contacts; and planning public and private events.
The position requires an undergraduate degree and approximately 3 to 4 years of demonstrated success in program administration or management. AI usage skills are a strong plus. Knowledge of tech policy, foreign policy, or think tanks is a plus but not necessary.
The individual should be entrepreneurial, accountable, detail-oriented, comfortable with ambiguity, a clear and succinct communicator, good at managing up, ready to thrive with limited day-to-day supervision, and able to engage professionally at all levels (from routine contacts to high-level VIPs).
Located in Dupont Circle, we offer an outstanding work environment and generous benefits, including health insurance. The anticipated salary range for this D.C.-based position is $72,500 - $82,500.
